Wildly disappointed with this restaurant. I’m only giving it two stars because the truffle pasta and tartar bumped it up from 1 star. The server was very nice but those steaks were not worth even half the price they were. First of all, we ordered medium rare and they came out rare or blue rare. We told them and they took it back to cook it more and it was Immediately ruined. For a place this nice or expensive it was not good at all.Manager did not come out to the table even after sending food back. When we walked out he legitimately turned the other way and then hid behind a pillar.
Was really looking forward to going here for the past few months. Decided to book reservations for my best friend’s birthday. Before I begin, let me make clear that our server was great. The bread came, and it was a selection of what tasted like refrigerated month old bread bought from Albertson’s.We all ordered $200 120 day dry-aged steaks medium rare. Half of our steaks came blue rare, still cold in the middle. I asked to have it reheated and it made no difference. I’ve had better $30 steaks from Costco.Even at Applebee’s, the manager will come out of there’s an issue with an order. The manager did not come by our table once to meet us or try to ask if there was anything he could do to make it right. Then as we were leaving, we were talking about our experience and the manager saw us, and scurried away to avoid us.All in all an extreme disappointment. I don’t even write reviews but after my experience I felt compelled to say something. I will be sticking to Perry’s and Nick & Sam’s from now on.
Was looking forward to eat @ The Knife, but it was very disappointing. The atmosphere has a lot to be desired. We were seated at a scratched, peeling wooden table without tablecloth. Was given a paper menu with food stains. The lunch menu was limited and could not ordered from regular menu. The stakes were overcooked, the sides came at different times during the meal, one arrived at the end because the kitchen forgot to make it. And the worst of all, we had to constantly swat flies off our food. Extremely overpriced, overall terrible experience!
Had a great dinner here. Staff was friendly and the food was delicious. I had forgotten to put on my reservation that it was to celebrate a friends birthday and didn’t bring it up and during dinner I hadn’t realized I mentioned it being my friends birthday but the server overheard and brought him a treat. Both of us were shocked as we had not said anything but it was such a nice surprise and proved even further how attentive the staff is. From Houston but definitely will be back when I’m in Dallas.
I’ll start by saying the service could have been a little better, but that’s the only negative thing I have to say. Our steaks were PHENOMENAL. We were in heaven from the first bite. The steaks take a bit to cook, but were so worth the wait. We also ordered pommes purée, creamed spinach, and the cacio e Pepe as a dish to share. Everything was so delicious and cooked perfectly.
Nice restaurant. They pride themselves on their service and attention to detail. Any questions we had were answered right away along with fantastic food recommendations. The sommelier also suggested some fabulous wines to go with our meal. We really enjoyed our time at Knife.
This restaurant was recommended and it definitely met my expectations. Our server, Katy was very attentive. When I booked the reservation I mentioned it was our 50th anniversary and it was so sweet- they brought us a glass of champagne. Our steak was delicious, and my cosmopolitan was perfect. We were staying at the Hilton Highland Dallas Hotel, which is where it is located- very convenient.
My husband and I made a reservation here for our anniversary dinner . Giving it a 4 star rating because the atmosphere did not match the $$$$. We didn’t like that our utensils was left on the bare table. A table cloth would be nice to keep it clean. The service was great as the moment we sat down and received the fresh vegetable complimentary appetizer and bread. Our waitress was excellent. She was attentive and very patient. We had crispy pork belly with collard greens which was ok. Lamb meatballs were flavorful and seasoned perfectly which was one of our favorite. We had 45 day dry-aged bone in Akaushi Ribeye 32oz, which was really good but we liked Capital Grille’s dry aged better. We also had Wagyu skirt steak and it was really good. The dessert was good. Overall food and service was great.
I’m so glad I dined here during a recent business trip. It’s so much more than a steakhouse. Before I saw the menu, I’d expected to order a filet. There were so many delicious sounding non-red meat items that I ended up ordering a tuna tartare, a bacon tasting menu and a side of creamed spinach. I’ll come back for the steak next time I’m in Dallas—and another order of that bacon. I sat at the chefs’ counter and watched the cooks. The burgers, steaks, fried avocado, carrots and onion rings also looked fabulous.
This place is a little precious and curated for my taste but the food was absolutely excellent as was the service. My husband and I split a large fillet and had sides of onion rings and creamed spinach. Really the best meal we've had in a very long time.
