I wanted to celebrate my wife’s birthday with a Cuban meal, music, and dancing. I live 110 miles away from this place but had read great reviews. I called the day before our trip and was told reservations are not necessary as long as we arrived before 7:30. We drove all the way, and to be fair, we planned other events and arranged to spend the night. We got to the restaurant and were told there was no room for us because we didn’t have a reservation. The man the day before had told me no reservations were allowed for groups under 6. The waitress who turned us away rolled her eyes when I told her what I’d been told the previous day. We ate room service, and fortunately it was delivered fast and was really good. I would not recommend nor will I ever attempt again to go to this place.
I went to Havana Cafe over the Memorial Day Weekend. What a great find. The food here is fantastic. I've been looking for a good Cuban Sandwich in Dallas since I moved here from the east coast years ago. I've finally found a restaurant where you can have the real thing! The Cuban Sandwich was great. I also had the fried plantains. They were also excellent. The waitress could not have been nicer. She had excellent suggestions. Would give my highest recommendation for this fine restaurant. Tony P, MD
I love this place. I grew up in Miami where there are Latin/Cuban restaurants around every corner. I moved to Texas in 2013 and It’s difficult to find a Latin restaurant that tastes as good as those. But this is it! I would eat here every day if I could. I am HIGHLY dependent on this restaurant. Sorry for giving y’all 4 stars 2 years ago… I don’t know what I was thinking.
This is becoming my favorite little hidden gem in Dallas. Mojitos are on point, croquetas are delicious and addicting, Empanadas are hot, flaky and to die for, Cuban sandwich is authentic and what keeps us coming back. I’d skip the paella and tres leches but other than that, food is delicious and service is friendly and attentive. I go at least once a week!
The service was slow and rude. Had to ask for menu. Several people who came in after got served before even being asked for my order. After all that, The food bland and indifferent. Don’t waste your time or money
It’s been awhile since I’ve stopped by, but LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Great service, drinks (definitely a great place for mojitos), and such amazing food. Cuban sandwiches to lunch/dinner entrees have always been way above par! Hoping to stop by the next time I’m in the area! Definitely check them out.I’ve not been to one of their live music nights, but have “danced” around the house when I see live feeds or reels via social media. <3
Wow! This place is such a gym! I came here for a treat myself Sunday dinner and I’m so glad I chose this place. The food was insanely good. I’m not sure what is in the mojo sauce but if you like garlic and butter, everything this sauce touches makes food more magical! I got the presidente- a Cuban variation of a martini and it was so well mixed and lovely. I literally closed my eyes happy when I took a bite of the flan. Not even exaggerating. This place is awesome. If you haven’t been here, you’re missing out.
Authentic Cuban food❤ this restaurant serves the best Cuban food in the Dallas area. I went on a Friday and a Cuban band was playing. This is the closet you get to being Miami or Cuba. The owner Ernesto is such charismatic guy. He is always checking and talking to his customers. He makes you feel like your home. I truly recommend this place the food is delicious and I almost forgot to mention the mojitos the best?

I cannot complain about the food because it was really good BUT here are other things to consider— I was given a cup of coffee with red lipstick still on the cup (gross). This not only happened to me but to another person sitting across from me. I also did not appreciate the waiter putting my stirring spoon on the table without a napkin, specially when the table did not look very clean. Lastly, the bathroom smelled like day old urine. Needless to say, the staff here is not on their A game, only the chefs. Will not be coming back here sadly.
