I was upset with Elaine's yesterday 2/23/22 Wednesday. The weather was bad or I would have taken that food back. They gave me less oxtails plus one oxtail was a big bone with no meat, my steak dinner, steak kind of tough seemed like it was from day before. Hot water corn bread was real dark brown dry seemed old. My husband's goat was good. I love Elaine's, never got bad food from there. I bought 3 plates so I wouldn't have to cook. So disappointing!!! Too much money!!!

I will never come back to this racist place for food. Those women looked at me and my skin color as if i was superior or something. Very poor customer with a bad smell in the place. It needs to be shut down1 someone ask me from the back if I wanted to buy weed from the. This place is horrible with bad-tasting food. Don't go here if you not from the destructive area

Same issue with the cashier as everyone else. Yall holding her hostage or what? She's clearly miserable in there & it shows. I've eaten at Elaine's at least 8 times. The food is good but I've had to take it home and heat it more than once, parking is a challenge during peak hours, loitering is a problem but not aggressive. Bathrooms are clean. Ladies there are the creepy uncle types that sit in the parking lot and cat call. This has happened to me all but a few times. They don't follow, but they're not shy. THE DESSERTS ARE GREAT & NEVER FALL SHORT!! Still, haven't been back in over a year. I can't justify spending minimum $50+ dollars each visit & getting treated like I showed up to ask a favor.

Elaine's hasn't been the same since they moved. The best way to explain it is they make it too Americanized and I go there for authentic Jamaican food. And I know those are goat not oxtails!! They have no spices anymore and I never thought I would say I can't eat there no more.

I am haitian and the food taste just like my mama use to make coming up. It was my first time trying it and will definitely be back again. I had the Curry chicken so delicious my dad use to make this all the time growing up. Love this food spot thank you to my man for showing me it.

I'm always happy when i come to Elaine's Kitchen the food always good they never disappointment great place you gotta check it out... My favorite is the Jurk Chicken white rice and Mac and cheese..

Because of big price increases and downsized container portions they just lost me as a customer! Priced out!

As I go out on my deployments, as a covid 19 travel Registered Nurse, I visit the local places of business in support of during the pandemic. Typically on my day off it's when I catch up on chores and when afforded the time I also do my part in an effort to support the local tourist industry. But today, I am in need of a laundry day.Although I'm downtown Dallas, I find my way over to MLK boulevard where I go over to the local laundromat. Here it's where it gets interesting. Is early afternoon and I'm developing an appetite. I question the laundromat attendant about a nice place to go for lunch and immediately he suggests Elaine's....next door."What type of food?" I ask. The attendant smiles and says,"the lick your plate kind."I walk next door, through the wrought iron fence and up to the building's front. Before I enter the wrought iron fence d area, I notice the signage out front on the tall sign post above the wrought iron fence. In faded letters it reads Elaine's, along with the flag of Jamaica... the one Usain St. Leo Bolt aka #UsainBolt help to make even more popular being the world record holder in the 100 m, 200 m, and four X 100 m relay.I open the door to the establishment, and immediately notice the fresh smell of peppers onions and the like. I mean it smell as if grandmother is in the back cooking.Customers are masked up as well as the workers in the kitchen. It was an open kitchen and you can actually see your meal being prepared. The front clerk was unmasked but behind a large plexiglass barrier. I glance over the menu at the counter and decide to try several items so I can take care of my hunger pains and share a detailed review. After a careful assessment of the variety of proteins meals available, I place my order and wait for it to be prepared and packaged.Elaine's is busy with bustling traffic of pickup orders that were called in, orders that were placed for car service pick up and folks like me, walk-ins.I don't wait very long for the large order I made, my name is called shortly thereafter and I'm off in my Uber back to my room.I prepare my smorgasbord of ginuwine Jamaican cuisine. My first taste of the oxtails and one word comes to mind. AUTHENTIC! AUTHENTIC! AUTHENTIC! ... I said one word but it echoed with each taste of everything..The rice and peas and cabbage married with those oxtails and delivers the flavors my palate has longed for since my travels to South Florida and the island herself. The jerk wings had the perfect bite, the curry chicken as succulent as the pot liquor or gravy; whichever term you prefer. The desserts didn't appear to be homemade, but who can mess up red velvet cake, pecan pies and sweet potato pies. Although the sweet potato pie is a little less potato-y than I'm used to. And of course a Jamaican ginger beer to wash it all down. Please LIKE if this helps you and/or FOLLOW so I can continue to share.

Very disappointed, I came here to see what the hype was about I ordered large oxtail double rice a peas , and they gave me two out of 5 good ones the rest were just fat . Not only that ; my plate was 3/4 rice . JAMAICAN GATES is better than Elaine and I couldn’t get my money back .. customer service excellent. But The wait . the portions are trash . Never going back again GO TO TASTE OF JAMAICA OR JAMAICAN GATES not cool and I tipped they ought to be ashamed

Food was beyond great! Prices have went up but not to surprised, covid has gotten everything high jacked but the food was delicious.
