A haven for people who possess a sweet tooth!
The food is amazing! We are headed back now….
I ordered the Argentine empanadas. They looked ok on the outside and the dough was ok. The filling had ZERO flavor and had a strange, gushy consistency. I didn’t say anything because the other meals were ok but there was nothing authentic about the empanadas. Gave them this second chance but will not return again.
This was my first visit and I was very impressed with the many menu options, as well as creative drinks! I don’t think you will be disappointed ! The service was super, and all personnel friendly! We loved the covered patio for dining!
We used to drive from the suburbs to grab coffee and dessert from the extensive menu. About 6 years ago we moved closer in and would regularly finish an evening out with a fantastic coffee and the La Duni Milk Chocolate Bread Pudding. The last few times we stopped in, service was awful, the place was filthy, so we haven’t been in the past 2 years. Tonight was the final nail in the coffin. Our son was in town and for old times sake, we decided to give them one more try. First, they alert you that there is an automatic 20% service charge due to COVID...what? Instead of the sultry vibe that the entry used to provide with cool music and dim lighting, it’s now lined with neon refrigerated cases with desserts to go in jars. No jazz music playing either, just the low hum of the refrigerators. All of this could have been excused, if we had been treated to fabulous coffees and desserts. Nope. The coffee menu is minuscule compared to what it once was and the only desserts not in a jar are cookies. For the price, I’d like a cheesecake on a China plate with a little presentation. If I want a plastic jar, I’ll head to Val’s for takeout. All in all, so very disappointing and sad to say, the last time we’ll ever be back. *on a high note though, we ran into one of their best servers at a new place in Bishop Arts. He immediately recognized us. Though he is too classy to mention why he and everyone else has left La Duni, we’re glad to know where we can find good service locally.
The absolute best Cuban sandwich ever!Cocktails fabulous. Service perfect. For those worried about Covid and safety, your temperature is taken prior to seating.
Everything is wonderful but love the Barbacoa and grilled chicken they never disappoint!
Thank you La Duni for shipping some badly needed comfort food to the Gulf Coast! The blueberry pie is to die for, by far the best pie I have ever tasted. At last, I have found Birthday treats to send friends and family that won’t disappoint.
1st time today with my husband, daughters and granddaughter. Great service, good food, drinks, and we will be back!
Service is everything in some cases. In this case, it was terrible. . . First, the food was delicious (brioche French toast and cinnamon rolls a “must” and cappuccino was outstanding). The atmosphere is relaxed and hip. So far, so good. . . For brunch, it’s fun to hang out and not be rushed: to witness fellow diners desperately craning their necks for the wait staff was my first clue that it might be tough to get out of there. Our waiter actually tried to insist on getting us water glasses when WE insisted on placing our food order after waiting 14 minutes for his first appearance at our table. He disappeared after our food was delivered and we had to hunt him down for a forgotten coffee and to deliver the check. . . Relaxed is one thing: feeling aggravated after a great brunch ruined the experience.
