The pozole was delicious, but over-salted. The drinks are great, but pricy. However, I’d rather spend my money at more authentic, hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurants.
I had the stacked enchiladas. They were really good served with a fried egg on top. I liked the chips and bean dip as well. Nitro margarita was good and a fun show made at the table. I went with friends on a fairly crowed day. After a 45 minute wait, we were sat in the back where we could hear ourselves speak. If l loved close I would definitely go back.
This past weekend took my Bambina in for some dinner & drinks! We showed up around 7pm and put our name on the waiting list. We were told 2 hour wait for a table, which seemed a little long, but decided we’d go to the bar in the meantime to have a drink. Hoping that if 2 spots became available we’d just sit up there & eat instead of waiting the 2 hours for a table as quoted at the host stand! The bar was busy and full of ENERGY! We were greeted promptly and each got a drink in a timely fashion, considering how busy the bar was! Shortly after the drinks were made & served 2 open seats became available at the bar so we decided to sit and dine there with the bartenders! Both bartenders were very polite, happy to be working, and knew their drinks/bottles very well! After we received chips, salsa, and a fabulous bean/hummus dip, all provided complimentary btw, we decided to get some queso blanco to start with as an appetizer! It was at that time I received a text message saying that our table was available to be sat and to come to the host stand, it had only been 25 minutes and not the 2 hours they had quoted originally. We saw numerous people walk off due to the wait time the host staff has told them. So who knows how much business/sales they’re losing by WAY OVER QUOTING wait times! We decided to forgo the table and just eat at the bar, due to friendliness/energy from the bartenders, they were great! We had stacked chicken sour cream enchiladas, they were solid, as well as Tacos Al Pastor, they were good, not great but pretty good.Only reason I don’t give Beto 5 stars is due to the HUGE OVER QUOTE for wait time that we were told at the start, had we walked off and eaten elsewhere we wouldn’t have gotten to enjoy the bar/drinks/food there at Beto & Son. Glad we decided to stay & we will return, kudos to the bar staff once again for a great experience!
My reservations were for 8:30pm. I received a call to confirm though I gathered from the call that they were looking for us to come in early because they closed at 9pm. Didn’t receive call till 6:47pm. Don’t understand why make reservations for so close to closing?? Place was about empty and before we could order they are already stating last call. Now The drink made the table they’re famous and a natural margarita was wonderful the whole experience was completely fabulous I I loved every minute of it. No the food itself wasn’t what I expected it was very mediocre and definitely not up to standers rehearsed as far as reputation or every advertisement or definitely pricewise man was it wasn’t that great at all. And very bland tasting and definitely not good worth going back.
Jorge is hands down the best waiter at the best Mexican restaurant. First time visiting Dallas and he recommended the carne asada and strawberry limeade and those are easily my favorite items on the menu. He was very accommodating, charming, and informative. I will be back!!!
I really liked the table side guacamole, it’s BOMB! You get a lot, enough for four people to share. You will definitely love the chips so fresh, airy and light!!! You also get salsa and black bean hummus with unlimited chips. Both the salsa and hummus taste great! I ordered the Beer Battered Salmon tacos/corn tortilla; which come with 3. This was plenty to eat, hubby and I shared them…eating light that afternoon. We both thought they were fried crispier than expected, I would have enjoyed more seasoning in the salmon. Next time I plan to try the Shrimp tacos. We definitely plan to visit again. Also like being able to sit outdoors!
This was kind of underwhelming for tacos. If you come here for their drink menu, they would be the only great thing here. Their food was okay but I know I had better tacos any where but here and I’m not even from the south. They kinda did Texas dirty lol I’m pretty sure If I got anything else I might have liked it but the tacos weren’t it.
Came to Dallas to visit for the weekend, had my brother in law bring us to Trinity Grove and we decided to check out this place. We tried so much it was all so good. Began with the Queso Blanco, Sangria frozen & on the rocks, tried the quesadilla, enchiladas & tacos… service was good. Jimmy was our server and he was very attentive. It was very cold though!
The wait wasn't that bad, but wish they would of sit us inside or where there was actually had heater working. But thankfully our waiter got us some propane tank as soon as it got there. Probably sat in the cold for 10 to 15 min. But other then that, the food arrived quickly and it was delicious.
Great location, service, food & drinks. Also has a separate vegan menu for those with diet restrictions. Award winning margarita is froze at your table with nitrogen.
