Our regular go-to BBQ place is closed on Sunday, so we tried Babb Brothers, and we all had an EXCEPTIONAL experience - the BBQ was great - moist enough but not sloppy, very flavorful without being "pumped up" with all kinds of over the top rubs and\or spices like some places use, and the fries, too, were really good - nice and crispy on the outside - and this was right at opening on Sunday, when some places are still waking up and getting rolling - their kitchen was putting out the good stuff right away. The staff was smiling and friendly, and the restaurant was clean. My friend had wings and the wings, too, were really good. My two friends and think we may have found a new favorite BBQ place.
We ordered burgers and several side dishes. Unfortunately the burgers were fried rather than grilled, and were mostly flavorless, which was a shame. The sides seem like they had been cooked earlier that day and had been sitting under a warming lamp for quite awhile. The prices were really reasonable though, and the service was friendly enough. We didn't try to BBQ, so maybe the meats are much better.
I love this area in Trinity grooves especially with the added tables in the middle and the music. I had the brisket and turkey and it was seasoned well. I wish they had additional flavors of bbq sauce to try because the one available wasn’t good. My friend had the ribs and loved them. The Mac and cheese was bland. The food was also pretty pricey. I enjoyed the brisket and the greens had meat added to them, so I didn’t eat them in case they had pork. I would eat here again but maybe just a brisket sandwich.
I wish I had photos to share. A group of us went, and I had the brisket tacos - which were outstanding. Five star-worthy dinner. But I'd give it even more than five stars if I could, because the GM, Jay (I think), helped us out by getting us one more peach cobbler after closing time (we made a mistake when ordering and wound up one short). Above and beyond - most places don't treat their customers this well anymore!
First time here. The service was friendly and quick. The atmosphere was pleasant with plenty of room. I had a loaded baked potato with beef brisket. It was delicious! The brisket melted in your mouth. The misses had fried catfish which was perfect. Great pickles! Great iced tea! The cole slaw was sweet and absolutely delish. Only disappointment was the potato could have been a larger for the price. We will definitely visit again.
Great barbecue at an amazing price. All day happy hour and some interesting drinks designed in house. This place is located in a great area where you can get in a solid walk after the meal
The meat was average. The greens tastes sweet and burnt I’m guessing they were canned. My 8 yo really liked the ribs however it was definitely not worth the amount of money that was spent. I gave 3 stars because the customer service was good.
Despite the reviews I enjoy the beef sandwich and Mac and cheese. I wish they had spicy bbq sauce but this place will leave you full
Best barbeque I've had this whole year!
I would describe Babb Bros as middle of the road bbq. They have all the elements of great traditional Texas BBQ and if you are in the mood for BBQ and in Trinity Groves, it will hit the spot, but it is missing the key flavors to be in the elite category. The multiple restaurants inside is potentially a nice touch for groups, but also confusing. Can get wings or poke bowls with your BBQ if you want. Service was good, although slightly slow and interior decor is appropriate. Wings were not my preferred style, so I would say they are a skip. The poke reviews seemed mixed, but I did not try it.
