We have been coming to this restaurant for years. Unfortunately, we will not be coming back for the foreseeable future after our latest visit. Half of our party felt uncomfortable enough to leave before ordering due to concern for their health since they are at high risk. Awake is not following the minimum standards health protocols set for restaurants set by Gov. Greg Abbott. To start, there is no point in having employees wear face masks/covering if they remain around their necks the entire time. Also, your menu is already online so maybe redirect customers to that menu instead of handing out stained/dirty menus. Sanitize the tables. Seating a customer that had the last customers dirty plates and quickly taking those away and not spraying down the table doesn't provide a great image even if we weren't in the middle of a pandemic. We understand some of these are harder to implement than others but even simple protocols are still not being followed at this location like they are at other restaurants. I will list some of the recommended protocols below. Dining: Do not leave condiments, silverware, flatware, glassware, or other traditional table top items on an unoccupied table Provide condiments only upon request, and in single use (non-reusable) portions. Use disposable menus (new for each patron) Contactless payment is encouraged. Where not available, contact should be minimized. Both parties should wash or sanitize hands after the payment process. Train all employees and contractors on appropriate cleaning and disinfection, hand hygiene, and respiratory etiquette. Have employees and contractors wash or sanitize their hands upon entering the restaurant, and between interactions with customers. Have employees and contractors maintain at least 6 feet of separation from other individuals. If such distancing is not feasible, measures such as face covering, hand hygiene, cough etiquette, cleanliness, and sanitation should be rigorously practiced. Consistent with the actions taken by many restaurants across the state, consider having all employees and contractors wear cloth face coverings (over the nose and mouth). If available, employees and contractors should consider wearing non-medical grade face masks
Even as a vegan I found items to eat. With really tasty dishes the ambiance and decor made our entire experience A1??
AMAZING FOOD, AMAZING SERVICE!!! Steve took amazing care of us today! He sent us out a complimentary wheat pancake and it was amazing! We will be coming back!!

Ordered To-Go today and it was hot when we got it home. SO many good choices on their menu! Tuscan today...very yummy and more than enough food. Grateful you were open on Mother's Day!

The food and staff here are still top notch. Never had a bad meal. However, the new decor has ruined the atmosphere in here. The booths and tables are super uncomfortable. I feel like it is geared toward a younger crowd, but not sure why it was warranted when the place used to always be busy. I hate to miss out on the delicious eggs Benedict, but I don't like my back hurting before the entrees come.
Super cute place. Food is pretty good and reasonably priced. Service is good. Mimosas are good. Good for big groups.
