I was recommended to eat here by a friend that used to live in the Dallas area. I was not disappointed. The food was, simply put, phenomenal. The chips were fresh and they brought warms ones out every few minutes. The food was brought out quickly and they had excellent service. The only problem that I could see would be limited space during a rush, so make sure you get there early to enjoy an authentic, Mexican cuisine that will leave you stunned.
Well - I believe this may be the best Tex/Mex food I've ever had! Eating Pepito's Special right now. The salsa is awesome, chips are fresh. Service is outstanding and fast. Prices are great. Waiting to figure out what the catch is!
Avila's is a cozy restaurant with some authentic Mexican and tex mex dishes. If it's your first time you'll want to pay attention because it's so easy to pass. Parking is located between the restaurant and the auto shop next door. Food was good. I enjoyed the shrimp fajitas and my partner had the chicken gordita which they enjoyed. Salsa that comes with chips tasted great with the perfect amount of heat. Service was okay. I just flew back to TX from a Gig out of state and wanted some good home cooking. Found it!! Talk about a real gem. You can tell it's good when its packed by the locals. Family run with loving hospitality, What more to ask for? The food was fresh, hot and full flavored. The salsa had just the right amount of kick. Tried to sample it all, tacos, tamales, chile relleno, enchiladas. Service was quick and the staff was very polite. Atmosphere was colorful and not overwhelming. The added music was just the right touch. If your looking for some great Mexican Cuisine, they got you. I loved my visit and look forward to my next. Well Done!

Quick and food really good! The Poblano chicken fajitas enchiladas to die for!
I enjoyed everything overall, I think the prices online are not updated. I got the create your own enchilada meal and it was a couple bucks extra when I went. The portions are great and the small queso is a large at any other restaurant. The parking was small and the roads were unpaved, not really a big deal just food for thought. The one star off is because I went here specifically because I was craving mole. And although they gave a nice amount of sauce, the mole was super salty. It only could be the mole since I had all chicken enchiladas and different sauces, and the queso and poblano sour cream sauces were not salty. I would return but maybe not get the mole again.

I thought I was at the wrong place based on it being an old house with burglary bars all around it. Once inside it was a trip to an authentic place in Mexico city. Love the cozy ambience and friendly customer service. Menu is small, which means it's been perfected. Definitely recommend the fajita platters and cold beers! 10/10.
This food is so so good and is a must have in Dallas. Small place, cozy vibes, great great food. Enchiladas are so fresh, the maiz is soft and the meat even softer. The pozole has a kick, the chimichanga can hold it's own, and the mole is so worth it! Beans and rice are done very well too
