Just had a baked potato with all the trimmings and a salad with ranch dressing. Also had a complementary scoop of Blue Bell home made vanilla ice cream which is offered on Sundays only.
When ordering turkey breast, they are very sparing with the slices, as opposed to the brisket and sausage. I ordered a baked potato and it was terrible- not cooked completely and cold, hard and cold. Very unappealing. My husband had Mac and cheese- watery and mostly tasteless, also pretty unappealing. And the meal was expensive- $50.00 fire lunch is way too much for marginal, tasteless, cold food. Not going back.
My food was FIRE ?! The chef at this location needs to come to the highway 6 location and show them how it’s done! My meat was so tender and delicious! Amazing! The ladies brining the bread were so sweet and kind! I don’t get this service at the highway 6 location! I’ll only eat here now!
Has been better in the past. Baked beans over spiced. Rolls on serving line cold , lucky they hand out fresh. Getting pricy for single meat plate.
Wow, as others have stated, this place has gone downhill in a HUGE way. A quick recap of last night's dining experience; so we noticed that they don't even toast buns for sandwiches as they are ordered, rather they have them pre-toasted. Gross. The girl who was slicing the meat helped herself to a piece right in front of us. Yep, popped it right in her mouth in plain view. Gross. Speaking of meat, the spicy sausage was extremely dry and certainly was not spicy. The condiments were sad looking. You know, the pickles, peppers, etc. Looked like they had been drowning in brine for a LONG time and certainly did not look fresh at all. Same can be said for the lemon slices for the iced tea... looked slimy. And now they added a gratuity option when you're checking out. Yeah, I'm not giving gratuity for simply preparing my food when I haven't even tasted it yet.Pretty sad experience and certainly forgettable. We've been coming here for over 10 years now and it actually used to be pretty good. I mean, the BBQ has always been meh but now everything else is also meh. Certainly no reason to go back to Spring Creek. One star for the fresh bread and one star for the baked potatoes but skip the bacon because they don't seem to make that fresh in store either.
So, my wife and I went here after leaving Pappa Charlie's hideout bbq (it sucked). I was in the area and got a to go sandwich just to see how the flavor was...it was worse than Poppa Charlie's hideout. The sandwich was 11.10 with no sides. It was small, the bread drenched in bbq sauce, meat had NO flavor that I could tell because it was drenched in bbq sauce. If you want real bbq go to the hood. The worse the area the better the bbq. That's what I've been running across lately.
Interesting thing happened while waiting for my food. One employee )baker)offered fresh rolls to everyone around me and passed me not only on her first round but also in her second round. She offered every customer in the restaurant fresh rolls but me. Once she made her rounds, she went behind the serving line and left the basket there then she proceeded to her baking area and continued baking more rolls. Was really puzzled why she didn't offer me any.I really wanted to try one. They smelled so good.
I know inflation is hitting everything, but my two meat combo had 3 oz of very dry brisket (I ordered moist) and less than 4 oz of sausage. Sides also seem much smaller and the bread rock hard and inedible. Even the peach cobbler portion was tiny and well passed its shelf life. What really struck me as odd was the uncharacteristically unpleasant service. For Many years we enjoyed good portions and fantastic service. Those days are gone. Very disappointing.
Bbq is amazing here!! I'm just giving it 4 stars because the costumer service was poor. We were a group of 11 and it was our first time there so we asked how everything worked and they said we order first and then we go sit down. So we decided what we wanted to order and when we were ready I went to the counter and said "excuse me" to the guy like 4 times and he just ignored me. I felt like he didn't want to take my order and was a little rude. He didn't say "I'm busy give me a minute" or "I'll be right with you" anything!
Normally, this is our go-to BBQ joint….not this time. After picking up a to go order, discovered that they forgot the bread, gave us fatty, nearly inedible, brisket (asked for extra lean) and the portions were miniature. Used to have friendly and accurate staff that valued the customer experience, not anymore. Complete waste of $75.
