We had raw oysters and gumbo , oysters were very small and not of good quality. The gumbo had a lot of heat ( spice) no flavor. I will not be going back and do not recommend this place.
Anytime you get to wear a plastic bib and gloves you know you're in for some good eating. Mom got heartburn later that day, but she knows better and said it was worth it. We had three pounds of spicy garlic shrimp with butter and Cajun seasoning, and boudain balls on the side. It was delicious, my girls don't eat here but even though there is a sign that prohibits outside food, the staff was kind enough to let us bring their food in to eat with us. We drove out of our way to get here as there is only this location, but again, worth it.
I am addicted to this place! I absolutely love the boiled shrimp I always get xtra xtra spicy cajun flavor. They have several diff flavors and you can get them from not spicy at all to omg spicy.... I always ask for extra spicy everywhere I go and I am always let down anywhere else but here! They will make it as flavorful and spicy as you like it! They also make a pretty good bowl of gumbo too. I love this place!
3 stars only because i love their boiled food and fried food wasn’t bad BUT. I asked for the fried platter #1. And my only issue was the chicken tenders. It said it came with two, but it looks like 2 CHICKEN NUGGETS. they literally just cut the tender in half and fry it. Cut is clearly noticeable. I thought this would feed me and my partner but i was wrong. We don’t eat much as is, but this was a bad idea. but if you come here DO NOT order chicken tenders lol they’re more nuggets.
Seafood boils are awesome, fresh, we loved it and will be coming back for that. Unfortunately fried salt pepper crab and shrimp where not to our liking and were over cooked and we also disliked the seafood fried rice. Hush puppies were good but too small for for price. We also didn't like that it was so cold inside the restaurant. It was our first time there and wanted to try some of our favorite stuff and like I said we love and only recommend the (live) seafood boils are fresh and one of the best we have tried with medium hot hot spot special.
I have been a longtime customer and I have been referring others to come your way. But as of today I will no longer be coming there. The food is pricey and the crawfish use to be great l, today it was very very salty that I could not even eat half of it, to enjoy it: I spent $160 after tip in all and was very displeased. Must have changed cooks. The waitress had to be asked for things instead of being attentive to the guess. So you lost a few longtime customer due to this… Not to mention the was trash under the tables. A lot of staff standing around that could have been cleaning and being more attentive to customer..
We love this (hot) spot! The shrimp is always fresh and the seasoning delicious. They are currently experiencing staffing issues (who isn't) but it is one of the few places we have the patience for to eat out at.
Worst crawfish experience ever. 1/3 are mushy and inedible, and I pulled a handful out that are literally 1". Manager offered 20% off my next visit IF I brought the crawfish back. What a joke, no wonder the dining room is always empty at peak times. Go to Sucking good crawfish. Much better, close, and they're better priced and have a drive through. Don't bother.
The crawfish were SUPER small and overcooked. The seasoning was good and the shrimp were okay. They bought us another pound trying to compensate for the overcooked crawfish and that batch was the exact same. We also ordered chicken strips and fries, which were good and fresh. Overall the food was edible. If you are a crawfish lover, this is NOT the place for you. It’s too far in crawfish season for them to have such small crawfish.
Food is good. But service is bad. Been there a three times and all three times service has been very slow. Waitress forgot my order. Had to ask for items multiple times.Beer was served hot. I want to like the place but slow and bad service override the food.
