I really like Whataburger. No, I love it! This location is chaotic, however. It takes a really long time to get your order, if you get it. Someone took ours, so they had to remake it. Time between ordering and receiving the order was 38 minutes. Lots of other folks were waiting quite a long time as well. I understand the novelty of wanting to grub by the water, but the headaches made us wish we went somewhere else. I think we'll leave this one to the tourists.
This is the largest Whataburger I've been to, with 2 stories and an outside seating area on the balcony. Fast service in spite of at least 2 Boy Scout troops, a Girl Scout troop, another large group, and our Trail Life troop. Food was good, staff was friendly, and good service.
My daughter and I were in Corpus Christi for the day on Monday for some shopping and couldn't decide on what to eat before heading home. We wanted to get home to San Antonio before dark and didn't want to spend too much after shopping, so we agreed on the trusted taste of Whataburger. You know exactly what you're getting, no surprises! And, it was all very fresh, by which I mean, hot! Hot fries are the best! We always enjoy the view from the second floor dining area out onto the bay! The employees were very friendly, one gentleman even opened the door for us to enter, and when we left!We had the Whataburger Patty Melt and a #2 Double Meat. Both were good and hot and we shared a large fry, again, very hot!We dined in and unfortunately the tables were not as clean as they could've been. I guess being outdoors, right on the bay, with all the wind, makes it harder to keep them clean, maybe. The restrooms, on the other hand, were very clean, which is always important, especially for travelers! There is always plenty of parking at this location with parking lot entry from four sides. We always visit this Whataburger location at least once whenever we are in Corpus Christi. Next to all the fresh seafood the city has to offer, it's good to be able to get a great burger!
I actually like this location a lot and eat there every Wednesday. The only problem I have (and I sure hope management reads this) is upstairs. The door to the outside balcony will not let you back in if you go out for a look. It closes on its own with no outside latch! My friend and I are constantly jumping up to let folks back in. If this is a safety measure or something, you should definitely install a sign at the door that states you will be locked out if the door shuts, and it will. Otherwise, the food is great as are all Whataburgers. And the bus lady, Terry, brought my friend's purse up to her when she accidently left it in a downstairs booth. I gave her a tip, but she deserves recognition for honesty. Next time there I will get a photo of people banging on the door after being locked out!!! That will be a funny addition to this review (but not for the poor customers!!!)!
I am from Corpus Christi, Whataburger is one of our favorite places to eat. This location though left us less than impressed. The order took a long time to come out, the food was cold. Did not even want to eat the burger after the first several bites. The Patty wasn't even hot enough to melt the cheese. Bathrooms and dining rooms were not clean. The staff needs some better training in customer service, and were not friendly at all. We will still enjoy Whataburger, but this particular location and needs a lot of work. For a " flagship" store you would think they would do better j
For a busy fast food restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised by the prompt and friendly service. I got my order in under 5 minutes during a lunch break. Sandwiches were well wrapped, warm and appealing to look at. Eating area was kept cleaned. I highly recommend this place.
I loved this Whataburger when I first moved 1/2 mile from them 9 weeks ago. Climate inside comfy, clean, upstairs view of bay great, coffee and biscuits same good. Morning manager friendly. Homeless inside seemingly ok. THEN I ordered a biscuit with an egg ONLY, no cheese, no sausage. They just couldn't do it! Came out incorrect twice. Finally manager did it correctly. And I ordered plain biscuit with egg at drive thru one morning. Same problem. Then last night at midnight, the fire alarm went off at my apt (false alarm again but unbearable) so wanted to assuage my irritation by eating unhealthy foods. Whataburger 2 minutes away!! Ordered chicken fingers basket with gravy, fries, and toast with a milk shake which is basically ice cream. Can't mess up ice cream, BUT!!! The chicken, fries, the whole shebang was bitter tasting. I think the grease was old and burned to bitter. Burger would have been best choice. By the way, if a car ahead of you has a big order the car pays and pulls up but never far enough for next customers to pull up and out onto the street. You have to wait for them to get their order brought out to their car. Super irritating. In meantime, homeless are begging at your car windows. Love Whataburger, but disappointed in how managed.
Came to Corpus Christi Texas for some much needed R&R. While there the family really wanted to go to Whataburger. 2story burger joint with spectacular views of the ocean ? and downtown Corpus Christi. Can't say no to that. Lovely place. The service is a bit lacking and the food was so so. But the family didn't complain and we had a great time. That's really the important thing to take from all of this. The employees were probably tired and ready for the new year celebration.
Had family down from out of state and we decided to take them here before heading back to Missouri. We thought we made a HUGE mistake when we saw a bus full of people get down. We thought we were gonna have to wait a good minute. Turned out it was a very short wait for our food. Not only did they serve our family of 10 quickly they also managed to have all the bus peoples food ready about the same time. I give you guys an A+ for that! It was a very good family time. It was GREAT FOOD! Thanks for that! Keep up the great work!
Best visit at a Whataburger,it was clean,, great atmosphere,,great smiling greeting,auesome customer service,ordered and went to get seating and 5 minutes later we had our meal,hot ,fresh,put together right,very appetizing,best tasting Whataburger, and management had everyone on point,I was impressed,if all Whataburger Restaurants could be excellent like this one,
