I went for happy hour, best deals on drinks on appetizers. It has a very good local feel, and all that I ate was great. I wanted to try the hot wing challenge but they were out. I had the fish and chips (recommended) Buffalo wings, and coconut shrimp(also recommended), and the margarita. The service was a little slow as it was post lunch I guess. We ordered sushi too, but the wait time for over an hour, so we skipped it. We finished everything that was ordered. Perfect lunch time during hot summers!!!

We did our research trying to find the best seafood and Scuttlebutt’s was in the top 3. So we decided to give it a try. When we walked in we were shocked that the wait for 2-people was going to be 45 minutes to an hour. But we were determined to try it so we went to the bar to grab something to drink. We ended up sitting at the bar and noticed A LOT of open tables and yet we still hadn’t been notified that we were up. When I asked the hostess she said, “We aren’t sitting those tables b/c the kitchen is really backed up.” So we decided to just eat at the bar. We met some really fun locals that were having Scuttlebutt’s cook up their red snapper that they caught the day before. They even offered us some to try. It was delicious. I had the seafood fettuccine and a cup of clam chowder. The clam chowder was very interesting b/c it had ham and bacon in it as well. It was very tasty but I’ve never had clam chowder that didn’t just have potatoes and clams. The seafood fettuccine was delicious! The bartender who waited on us actually lived in Sheridan, WY (which is only an hour and a half from where we live). All in all, Scuttlebutt’s was WELL WORTH the wait.

We have eaten here every time we visit Padre (3times in last 4 years) do you have to show up to get on the waitlist but then you can see the time left on a website…. But I have no idea where the recent bad reviews come from….my son enjoys the burger sliders and we have had Oysters, Blackened Mahi, sushi rolls, and fish baskets …our Server said it was just his 3rd day here and was very attentive and checked in with us often ….. what is strange about this place is what it looks like from the outside, but once inside they do have live music 6-9 with an acoustic guitar player, and there are enough TVs to watch just about any sports that are on…. The Pina Colada’s have always been good. I never write long reviews but seriously I have not had a bad experience here.

Their happy hour hasa half off menu to die for. I ordered a pound of peel and eat shrimp and 1/2 order of blue point oysters. Presentation was nice and the food was outstanding! Great price ! The margaritas were top notch. Service was great. And leftovers for dinner that evening .

Ordered takeout and when we arrived the food hadn’t even been started. I got the ahi tuna but the presentation was terrible. The sides were not what was ordered and the rice that we got was over cooked and flavorless.Friend got the flounder and the amount was pathetic, leaving him still hungry. Another friend got the chicken sandwich which was dry and hard and inedible.Do not go here!

Monday 5.16.22 @3pmRed fish dip: not a dip. More like a dry can of tuna, even canned tuna is juicier.Baked Flounder Imperial: tiny portion for $30, probably 3 to 4 ounces.Scallops: same sadness as above.Mussels: very very salty white sauce. They also got our order wrong on a couple of items. It's like they weren't even trying. Perhaps they were busy with happy hour starting. But I did like the Avocado Beach Ball, that was well made.I hate leaving negative reviews but I spent a lot of money on our order. If I remember I will take this review down in a couple of months.

The food is "ok", not great. It's not somewhere to go expecting a delicious dish you'll be raving about for years. It was packed on a Saturday evening at 6:30pm, and we waited 45 minutes for a table. We don't mind waiting if we can get a drink at the bar & chat. The inside bar has no place for walk-up service - chairs all around are full of people eating, so you could shout & reach over them I suppose. Que the outside bar - great idea. We were first in line, but it took 15 minutes to get a few beer because it's barely a mini bar and the one person in front of us ordered a michlada which the bartender had to wander inside to make. Then three portable credit card machines were acting up. I guess there were no beer mugs outside so the bartender had to disappear back inside before they could draw our beer from the tap. We were not in a hurry, but it's frustrating when simple things just seem to take forever. There was a musician playing inside. It was lively and fun. There are many items on the menu priced at over $26-$30+, but I don't think I would risk expecting those to be really good here, but if you've got that kinda money to blow on testing entree's for four, go right ahead. Yes I would go back, but I'll still keep my food choice limited to something a bar "can't mess up." My Diablo Pasta with chicken was dry and the pasta was quite solid (aldente) and dried out from a heat lamp. The fried shrimp platters were cold. We tipped nicely, although I don't see a need to have a separate line for kitchen tips. We will go back again to see if this was just a singular less than stellar experience.

Great service and food! For an appetizer we got the mozzarella wedges…they flew off the table; SO good. My daughter really wanted crab legs so we went during happy hour and got snow crab legs (8) for half off at $25. She said they were delicious. The kids mac and cheese is actually made with from scratch cheese which was a nice surprise. I ordered the ribeye and it was seasoned so well; nice and juicy. The garlic mashed potatoes were very good along with it. My husband got the blackened mahi mahi and said it was very good. Our other company ordered scallops, wings, house salad etc and everyone was very pleased with their dishes. So glad we decided to give this place a try!

Despite the 1 star reviews, we stopped here based on the recommendation of a local man we met on a U of T wetlands tour in Port Aransas. Our visit was on a Wednesday evening at about 8:00 pm and we walked right in - no wait. There was live music and quite a few tables were full. Our waiter advised us that if we were ordering anything from the fresh menu (steamed mussels, crawfish, etc) that we should put that part of our order in immediately because they are cooked to order. We ordered 2 lbs of crawfish boil (which came with 4 ears of corn and quite a good serving of potatoes) and 1 lb of steamed mussels. The seasoning on the crawfish was spicy and flavorful and indeed, they came out piping hot and perfectly cooked. (about a 30 min wait - but that is fine by me because I know it was cooked only once I ordered it). The mussels had a sweet, buttery broth and were excellent. Our mid-week experience was very good - we would return as the food was good, hot, and fresh. We did not experience the long wait or the limited menu that other reviews mentioned.

Awful service, disgusting bathrooms and terrible food. I could go on and on about this place. But all the other 1 stars pretty much sum it up for what our experience was like.
