For a 2 hour lunch, the view was great. We sat for about 20 minutes before anyone even came to our table. We finally were able to order and waited 30 minutes for our appetizer and another 30 our food to arrive. When it finally did come, it was cold and soggy as if it had been sitting in the window for a good while. From start to signing the ticket it was 4 minutes shy of 2 hours We were looking for a pleasant experience on the shore before touring the Lexington and instead got a very long wait and cold food. The staff was pleasant though.
We had a great dinner here. I didn’t realize that all dining is outside (though some is covered) so I was glad to have a scrunchie in my purse because it was a very windy day. There was live music and it created a chill, laid-back atmosphere. Our server was sweet and attentive. We ordered the fried cheese appetizer to start. I ordered the chicken fried chicken club, my husband got the seafood boil, and our son had the kids fried fish. We all enjoyed our food. We ended up splitting a brownie explosion for dessert as well. It was a great ending to a day of beach and pool life.
The kids food was the only thing that was good. My husband and I's food was soggy. We went cause of the good reviews. But maybe the cook was having a off day.
Every time I visit Corpus Christi my first stop is Pier 99! This is such a cool place with amazing food! It is the complete island experience. Sit on the patio and enjoy live music as you enjoy one of their scrumptious offerings. Time slows when you are here, so relax and enjoy! The customer service has been impeccable every time I have gone! I cannot say enough about this gem of a place.
Best Seafood Restaurant in Corpus Christi, TX! Huge portions! Outstanding service! Ordered The Shrimp Bonanza! It will feed 2 people, just ask for an extra plate! 5 different types of shrimp! Blackened, Butterfly, Boiled, Breaded, etc! Excellent flavor, very tasty! Would highly recommend this Restaurant! You will not go wrong! Drove 400 miles to eat here!!
Food was delicious. Prices are reasonable . Service was great and friendly staff. Music was good. Alcoholic drinks are prefect. Area is very very nice.
Overall I really enjoyed the vibe and energy of this restaurant. I would definitely try again I believe the circumstances of this visit may have impacted the quality of the food. The restaurant normally opens at 11am, but the kitchen had to restock and unpack boxes. Eventually the restaurant opened at 12:30pm.Ambience - 5 star: A local restaurant with outdoor seating near water front with bar and live music. The chairs are made of pvc pipes and boards, and were lower than your standard chair.Beverage - 3 star: They served one of the best fountain cokes that I have had in a long time. I ordered a patron shot to add to my margarita mix because there was absolutely no alcohol present.Food - 3 star: The gumbo was more of a tomato soup with rice. The fried green tomatoes and sauce were delicious although some were a bit mushy. The fried fish and shrimp were standard and decent. The cocktail sauce was really delicious with chunks of capers. The broccoli was buttery and perfectly cooked. The green beans were canned. The cole slaw had a vinegar base and was decent.Summer our waitress was very attentive and prompt despite the circumstances.
We were staying at a hotel right on the beach and looking for something to eat within walking distance and this was what we found. It's a nice chill spot and the staff are really friendly. Our waiter was prompt and attentive and even went through the daily special list with us. I decided to have the gumbo which is amazing!!! Some of the best I've had. The naked Turtle drink is too fun and you get to take the cup home with you which is a plus. They do have live entertainment outside but we almost froze to death...the wind was so strong and cold! We still had a great time though and I will definitely be back next time I'm in Corpus Christi.
Delish! I had the fish tacos and they were great. I also had an order of onion rings which were also very good. I'm going back tomorrow to try the shrimp tacos because it was so hard to choose between them. The service was awesome and very friendly and how can you beat being right on the water!
I travel all over the country for buisness...Pier99 has always been a must stop on a trip through or to Corpus.to take my company people to...this particular trip started great as always until I asked for a takeout box to which her response was "I am not a server and you'll have to ask them loud enough for the people at the surrounding tables to hear her scold me for asking a question...my point don't judge a book by its cover and try not to be rude to someone for no reason other then that it was great
