The staff was kind however the food was awful. Nothing had any flavor at all, very small portions and everything from the sushi, rice, shrimp tempura, and streak/chicken was absolutely awful. I am on vacation with my two daughters, mother and boyfriend and we spent 135.27 on our meals we didn't eat hardly any of it, just enough to sample each thing before we saw a roach crawl across the black plates they brought our food to us on and then we left immediately. We made it out to our car and the owner and waitress walked out and told us we didn't leave a tip. We didn't eat even a quarter of the food! I told the owner That none of liked the food and she left our car window very upset. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant at all.
In my honest opinion, there is little I can say that accurately describes how outstanding of a restaurant this is. With an extraordinary atmosphere that makes you feel as if you traveled back in time, with extremely kind staff and food that is worth double what they charge. As an enormous fan of traditional Japanese architecture, cuisine and art this place has become my all time favorite location to visit for a taste of truly beautiful aesthetic and food that has been perfected over decades of tradition. I highly recommend.
Our eyes were slightly burning in there and it smelled like a wet towel. Sushi is super tiny but cheap, was also pretty warm. Took 40 minutes on a slow evening. Waitress was nice.
The sushi is as authentic as it gets! The owner of the restaurant makes the sushi himself, and he is an absolute gem! Not only is he perfect in his craft, but you can tell he takes great pride in his work. If you ever get the chance to try this establishment out, I highly recommend the dragon roll! It's freaking adorable!
Origami Japanese Cuisine & Sushi Bar at 1220 Airline Rd in Corpus Christi, Tx google web site advertises that it's "Menu highlight: okonomiyaki". I have called two times and the same rude man has answered and yells at me that they do NOT have okonomiyaki!! Filling that I may have not pronounced the the word correctly I apologize and I spell the name of the dish only to be yelled at even more rudely. Defiantly not a restaurant I will ever visit.(this sight will not let me post with out giving a rating, I choose a one star being that- that is the lowest possible rating allowed to be able to share me experience,
Kinda a little hole in the wall inside a shopping plaza, stale odor, we actually almost left. Extremely glad we stayed, we ordered a ton of food. Green tea was excellent and ALL the food was simply exceptional. Service was outstanding, and my wife and I split a green tea Ice Cream at the end, they dressed it up like a couples dish, it was too cute. We will definitely be back. Looks can be deceiving. This place has by far the best Japanese Cuisine in South Texas !
It was our first time here. And everything was so fresh. Service was great. Everyone was so nice. Differently will be coming back.
If I could rate 0 star , I would. The rudeness and unprofessionalism of whoever is the man in charge of taking orders was absolutely unsettling . On Saturday the 26th, I placed a $67.12 Uber order. The wait was above an hour . The customer did not mind , she was sweet. In my order four items , required extra wasabi . While rudely rushing me to place my order and under my insistence , he wrote down a note about my customer's instructions . I was not bothered by his overall rudeness , I assumed he was under some stress although the place did not look busy. Once he finished to take my order , I insisted again ( for the 5th time) about the extra wasabi. Annoyed, he looked at me and told me that he got it. I left . I came back an hour later the order was still not ready . I did not complain. I waited for an extra 20 minutes. When I got my order and before leaving, I asked him if everything included the extra wasabi was in the bags. Could not open the bags to check what was inside per Uber COVID policy . He confirmed everything was there. I trusted him. I delivered the order. Next thing I know my customer is reaching out to complain about missing those extra wasabi. I was so sad because she was so patient and sweet. I decided to call the restaurant to give them my feedback and see if they would offer me to come back and pick the missing items. The response was appalling! You would think they would at least apologize! Lol, aggressively the man denied that he forgot the items, implying my customer was lying and the cherry on top, he hung up on me!As far as I am concerned I will never eat in such place and from now on every customer that wants to place an order there, I will warn them so that they decide whether or not it is worth the excessive wait and the careless attitude over their orders. To my fellow delivery drivers, know, that not only you will wait forever but you will probably lose your tips over a missing item. I have not . My customer was understanding but not every customer will understand that it is not our fault. A word to the wise!

Hands down favorite sushi joint. First restaurant I’ve been to that feels like a Japanese restaurant from Japan. Katsu curry, California roll and samurai bento box are my favorites
