If ya leave hungry its your fault. Excellent food and service. Chicken fried steak is good and if hungry they got texas size...n it's big(better be hungry) poor boys are great .... all the food is great go try it.... $$
Great place to grab a chopped sirloin steak with onions and gravy! Moist patty cooked to my order. I had a baked potato and broccoli for my sides. The baked potato was good, not over cooked and the steamed broccoli with a touch of butter, not over cooked, still had color! We had croutons and cheese, a few pieces tasted a little salty but overall a simple appetizer. For dessert, we had a slice of lemon cake, very moist. We have eaten at this location several times throughout the years, as far as the chopped sirloin steak plate; it has been made consistent in taste and quality! Great service too!
The oyster poboy was really good but the brisket stole the show. The brisket had great flavor and was really juicy. The poboy bread was super freash and really good. The carrot cake was really good. The staff was very friendly and the place was really clean.
I understand the issues with economy across the world but to raise the prices while lowering the quality and quantity of the food is not justified. How can you serve a BBQ item without pickles and onions? The baked potato"meal" is not at all in keeping with the cost of the meal. If I had known that the cashiers were having a bad day, I probably would have gone elsewhere...I did not mean to interrupt your day by ordering a meal at your establishment. Bad food, rude service, terrible quantities, and high prices do not make for a great establishment. Not likely to return.
The shrimp poorboy was good. You only get 4 shrimp, so I used the top half of the bread to make a smaller sandwich. I prefer cajun seafood, but with the tarter sauce, it was tasty.
The steak and shrimp was good as always, but the poor boy that my son had wasn't. Too much of the cheddar cheese made the sandwich too strong of a taste. But overall good.
The chicken fried steak was delicious. But the rolls? Oh, the rolls! They were an unexpected bonus. I would go back just for the rolls. ❤️
My favorite thing to order from Nolan’s is the Salmon Caesar salad. The salmon is grilled perfectly and it all tastes so good. I have two complaints, however. The size of the salad has been cut back so much that I’m still hungry. The size of the salmon is the same but not as much lettuce as there used to be. I almost feel cheated. That is the most inexpensive part of this dish. Why not load it up? Also when I call in to order my Salmon Caesar Salad, they always ask me what dressing I want on it…… Ummm. How about CAESAR????
Bought food curbside Calallen location last two months, Feb and March once each. Feb I had brisket and sausage poorboy. Meat good, bun was dried out like sat on counter couple days. Potato salad was mashed mush, no chuncks. March had Chicken fried chicken dinner, was alittle greasey but tasted ok. Not really impressed over all. April went to Southside location by Staples st. Dine in. This was the nail in coffin for me. Decided to stay away from poorboys, had brisket plate. Requested lean brisket, fries, beans, and warm dinner roll. Meat was fatty and rubbery, rest of food was great. Very disappointing, not giving this restaurant anymore tries. Staff was very nice, food quality just not there in Meat. My daughter had original poorboy, buttered and heated in oven. Looked terrific and she liked it. Wish they would've heated and butter the poorboy with brisket and sausage I had ordered months ago. Done
Not worth visiting again. Had the BBQ plate. Meat tough, potatoes salad was mashed potatoes with a very few tiny pieces of pickle, beans were in a two ounce cup and the food was barely warm. Very disappointing.
