Horrible what this business did to the wonderful teachers at Moody High School. Do not go here. Plus I have heard from other friends that the food and service not good. Better bbq places out there. I highly recommend Butter's in Mathis.
Outstanding BBQ with outstanding customer service. I called Mesquite House BBQ with less than one week notice to cater my father-in-law’s 90th birthday party. They gladly accepted my order of the standard BBQ lineup: brisket, sausage, rice, beans, and potato salad. They called me the night before to confirm the pick-up time. They provided more than enough food to feed 30 guests. And everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. The pit-master’s passion and craftsmanship clearly comes through in the smoked-to-perfection brisket, not to mention a subtle, but noticeable, hint of smoke in all the side dishes.

I had the Texas tacos - brisket, sausage, pico and cheese. Tons of meat and delicious!! Hubby had the brisket sandwich with onion rings. Again, lots of meat - tender and juicy. The only reason I don’t give 5stars is because the onion rings. Definitely not hand made. It’s a little pricey but most bbq is these days. We will absolutely go back!
Ate here for the first time today and had the John Wayne plate. It came with a Dino beef rib, marbled brisket, sausage and a chicken leg quarter plus 3 sides. IT ALL WAS BEYOND EXPECTATIONS!! The brisket was tender and juicy, the chicken was fall off the bone and juicy and the beef rib was tender and smoke rich flavor. They all had just the right amount of seasoning and smoke where it was the perfect blend of flavors. The beans were the best I have had in BBQ joints around town. The rice wad fluffy and tasty, the potato salad was great as well and their homemade BBQ sauce was the last piece of that flavorful puzzle. The owner was there and talked while I waited and very nice and you can hear his passion for BBQ when he talks. I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this BBQ. 12/10
I definitely recommend the food at this place. Everything was good. The brisket, rice, beans and potato salad were all great. There is not a lot of room to park. But, if you are taking your food to go, who cares. I hope this restaurant is able to make it and advance to a bigger and better location. I will definitely be going back for more visits.
Would 100% recommend this place. Definitely the best BBQ I've had in corpus. It was our first time there and the guys at the counter were very friendly and even offered us a sample of the brisket while we waited for our food, talk about good service! The brisket was very well seasoned and cooked to perfection. It was very moist and soft. Sausage was also of superior quality as well. Also, The rice and potato salad were amazing! We will be returning
We've been in Corpus Christi for 5 weeks to get away from winter in Minnesota. I love Texas and Texas bbq. We've driven past Texas Mesquite bbq a dozen or more times and felt it was time to check it out. Well we've checked it off our places to visit but it will be a one and done. I don't expect much from a bbq joint but this was barely a step up from eating at your neighbors house. Worn out to say the least. Whatever you do, DO NOT waste your money on upgrading to macaroni. Did I mean mac and cheese?? It's listed that way on the menu but trust me.....there's not really any cheese in this overcooked, bland macaroni dish. The bbq was okay but the pulled pork sandwich was a disaster. Light on the meat and not very good. I would definately take my appetite to MacDaddy's in Port Aransas or Rudy's in CC before eating here.
Best bbq in Corpus Christi, this is old school Texas bbq, if you haven’t had Gordos bbq you haven’t had great Q . Try his smoked peach cobbler you will think you’ve died an gone to heaven! Ps pork ribs are flipping amazing!!!
