First time visiting this establishment. It has a very cozy environment. The waiter was very friendly. I ordered tue Spaghettie and Mestballs, which were very tasty. This dish came with a salad which only a couple of carrot shavings, lettus and a half slice of tomato. No choice in the dressings. The salad dressing appeared to be ranch but had no taste whatsoever. It's as if it taste like water. I was also given an order of Garlic Bread which was very tasty. Overall the meal was good, and the prices were decent. The waitress brought out a price of strawberry flavored cake which was delicious and on the house.
This is a quaint, cozy, wonderful place to eat! We are from Iowa and this place was recommended to us by our resort. The food was extremely flavorful. My husband had the veal marsala and found it to be one of the best he has ever eaten. The garlic bread was fresh and hot and the garlic oil to spread or dip the bread in was fantastic. The service/waiter was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions for us when asked. Of course we had to finish with a slice of chocolate cake. It was a wonderful experience and I would highly encourage everyone to try it out.
I'm a home cook and a foodie, so this is a long review. We had a group of 8 for lunch on a Thursday. Other than us, I believe there might have been 4 other patrons in the whole place. I didn't see anyone, but could hear a couple of voices from the entryway. The service was extremely slow. It was almost 2 hours for lunch and that's too long for me. It wasn't waiting on food, but waiting on the server. He came and brought water and drinks, then someone had to go and find him in order to come and take our order. Then, it was quite a long while for our food which was all chicken and pasta. The garlice bread was fresh and had good taste. They brought out "salads" which consisted of iceberg lettuce, 3 shaves of a carrot and a tiny quarter of a slice of a small tomato. They did not give us a choice of dressing but had what looked like Ranch, but had no taste whatsoever. I mean it tasted like water. My friend next to me asked if anyone else thought the dressing was tasteless and I said yes, it's like water. I tasted nothing. So, the salads definitely need improvement. Several of us ordered Chicken Carciofo, some with pasta and some with steamed veggies. The chicken was pounded out to about 1/8-1/4" thickness. The sauce was a white wine w/ capers, artichoke hearts and garlic. The artichoke hearts were straight out of a can or jar and they did not do anything to them but throw them in the sauce. When making pasta with artichokes, frozen is always a better option than can or jar. Since the sauce had the wine and capers, the canned artichokes made it overly briny. A frozen artichoke that was roasted with olive oil and fresh parm would have been much better. They did not offer any freshly grated parmesan cheese. They had that awful powder in a shaker on the table like a pizza place. And they needed to put some rice in there because it appeared all clumpy as others tried to use it. Powder parm is a cardinal sin if you are trying to be more of an upscale Italian restaurant. Another friend had a creamy sauce with spinach that was excellent. I wish I had ordered it. I had Tiramisu for dessert and it wasn't very good. The bottom layer should be dipped lightly in coffee, not soaked and it should taste like coffee. Amore' has the best if you need an example. I don't know if they make this or buy it ready made, but the bottom layer was so soggy, I could not eat it and once again, it tasted like it had been soaked in water and not coffee. I ate the upper layers which did not have much flavor either. This restaurant needs help witht he cooking and the decor. Some of the chairs were those old bentwood backs with hard seats. We had to trade them all out for the few we could find with cushion backs and seats. They need to get rid of all the hard bottom ones. The room we were in was cluttered with all sorts of junk. It would help to have a nice, clean, uncluttered look instead of looking like a hoarder's house. They had 2 stereos from the 70s with 8 tracks and turntables stacked on top of eachother. They were stuffed with 8 tracks inside the turtable top. Way too much clutter on the piano as well.
It is a definitely a house-turned restaurant that has a quaint feel to it. I will say I did present a challenge for them with a reservation of 22 and unknowingly 9 out-of-town folks arrived at last minute; also adding church rehearsal ran late (Of which no blame to the restaurant). If anything, waitstaff can use us as an example to improve on how to improvise in situations like this and work on promptness and quick thinking after you get seated. The restaurant has a selected menu for private parties and it was NOT a disappointment - EVERYONE enjoyed their food as well as the garlic bread, salads, drinks and desserts!!!Question is would I recommend this restaurant?YES.
My co workers and I eat here at least once a week and have for years. Johnathan is a very kind waiter and his Dad makes the greatest food from scratch you will ever have. Its a nice atmosphere and the cream mushroom soup is THE BOMB! Love you guys!
A hidden gem that I somehow missed until now. Set in a converted house, it's a small and cozy restaurant with an old-fashioned atmosphere to delight anyone wanting a quiet meal. The food was delicious and clearly made from scratch with care. My tortellini had the richest and creamiest sauce I've had in a long time, and in a generous portion. Daily specials are offered and a simple lunch menu is available for quicker and cheaper bites. This place is certainly worth going out of the way for.
This place just looks like somebody's house, that has a sign for a restaurant out front. The inside just reminds you of your grandma's house, older mismatched furniture, squeaky wood floors, wood paneled walls... That kind of thing. The food is top-notch, and the service is wonderful. I've been here several times, and had several of the entrees as well as appetizers, and haven't been disappointed yet. Linguine with clams and mussels and red sauce is probably my go-to, but the lasagna is also very good, as well as the capellini San Marco. The servers are always very polite, and accommodating. The last time I went we decided to go with some picky eaters, and the restaurant had no problem substituting and removing ingredients from some of their dishes. If you want good Italian food, this is the best place in the area.
I went here to try it out never been here before and it looks absolutely stunning and I got there grilled chicken on french bread I mean it was divine the bread had some garnish some parmesan sprinkles on the bread the bread was super crispy it was perfectly toasted the grilled chicken was so juicy and flavorful the tomatoes where juicy and the lettuce was refreshing the cheese was superb in the flavor I believe it was either swiss or Gruyère I'm not to sure and it came with some pasta with a creamy sauce very creamy it was nice and warm the sandwich stayed nice and hot till I finished it I would definitely come back.
10... great food great service great music...thanku
The waiter was very prompt in service. The place itself has an old musty smell. Needs a deep cleaning (dusty) and the food presentation was poorly executed.
