Everything was great. We both had the 4 piece catfish plate. I had fries and onion rings and wife had fries and okra. Delicious. Service was attentive and quick. Prices were very reasonable. Both of us had to go boxes and will have another meal of it today. You'll love it.
My wife and I, two of our adult sons, a daughter-in-law and an adult grandson were looking for a nearby place to have seafood with our visiting son and his two teenaged daughters. Vernon's filled the bill. We did not have too long to wait for a large table. We ordered quite a variety, although several had their traditional fried catfish platters. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and there were several "to go" boxes taken home! Great family meal.
We've been wanting to try this place for years and finally made time for Mother's Day. The staff were pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The prices seemed fair for the large portions. The food was very good. The fried shrimp, country fries, tots, green beans, fried okra, and shrimp tacos all received great reviews at our table. The fried oysters, chicken fried steak, and frog legs were all considered "okay". The frog legs could use a little more spice in the breading but they definitely aren't bad. Most of us will return again to try more items on their menu.
Vernon’s Katfish is all that and a bag of chips! We have been going every week for quite some time and the Katfish is spot on every single time. Hot Fresh NO MUD!

Best fried catfish in the area. The portions are more than enough! They gave me a whole plate of hush puppies despite the fact I was alone. You're likely to leave stuffed with a to go box. Especially if you get an appetizer lol.
We had dinner here on Sunday January 16th with friends and family in town for our sons wedding. Shrimp and catfish were delicious and the hush puppies were full of flavor. Our server was quick friendly and very helpful answering questions from a large group not familiar with some of the menu items. I highly recommend this restaurant for great family dining
Second time visiting and same great food and same great service! Best Catfish ever!! Price is great too...sorry it looked so good I started eating immediately then forgot I wanted a pic...lol!
