Time and date: Wednesday July 20 2022. 11 am. Judy at the window taking orders is being extra rude today. I don't know why people have to be rude to people who aren't being rude to them. Bad for business I would say. If you don't want to work just stay home.
Update 7/14: I realized my review was a little harsh. Management reached out to me and is mailing out a gift card for what I spent. Customer service goes a long way nowadays.Received my UberEats dinner from this establishment and was very disappointed. My husband’s brisket meal was only fat, I could only eat 1 of my 3 ribs because they were just off and my drinks were missing for both kids meals. I just wasn’t impressed. My husband and I threw our meals in the trash.
I am an Uber Eats driver. I came into this establishment to pick up an order and the gentleman behind the counter (big, thick beard and glasses) was extremely rude to me. He didn't acknowledge me standing there at all, so I initiated the interaction, telling him that I was here to pick up an order. Without even looking up he said "Have a seat. You're in a line." very rudely. Having to wait for an order to finish being made is not unusual, but there was no reason for the attitude. I didn't make an issue of it, but while I was waiting another delivery person came in and got the same rude greeting. This guy took exception and got into it with him. Needless to say I will NEVER be eating here myself, ever.
Worst experience ever dealing with Todd. We ordered 2 chopped bakers all the way. Get home and they are bakers with sliced beef laying across the top. How does this work. Didn’t know that people could eat it that way. I call because I’m upset that I’m going to have to pull this sliced brisket off my potato and my sons and chop it up myself to consume it. Todd answers the phone and I begin to tell him what had happened. He went on to tell me that they have dry and moist brisket. I said okay, what does that have to do with it being sliced. I then asked him if he knew the difference between chopped brisket and sliced brisket. He replied “Do you”. My jaw dropped !!!! I said what? He replied “If you want chopped brisket, then chop it yourself”. I lost my Jesus at that very moment , said some things I shouldn’t have, but have never had anyone in my life talk to me that way. I’ve been eating at Smokie MO’s since they opened in Willis and have never dealt with this type of customer service. Will never eat there again…… ever.
Nice place to eat. Nice people. I’m moved to this side of town so I was looking for a close place to home So far the bbq taste good to me and meets my requirements.Sam
I ordered on UberEats, live 8 minutes away. From the time I ordered to the time it arrived was less than 30 minutes. I ordered 2 choped baker potatoes and a lot of bbq. Came with a $50 price tag. I was so disappointed in the food. We're in Texas!!!!! Home of BBQ. They arrived like they had been in the fridge all day and then nuked to melt the cheese on top. Paid extra for all the toppings only to have dry potatoes with 3 slivers of thinly dry rubbery "brisket" on top. First and last time ordering from this place. Oh and they didn't give me the bottle of bbq sauce I ordered. $13. Don't recommend.
Lord have mercyyyyyy!!! If you want that southern hospitality with some good BBQ come here. I loved it! Very moist and tender chicken and brisket!! Mac and cheese is so good. Sweet tea amazing.
I ordered pork ribs and some brisket online about 3:50pm today for pick-up at 5:00pm. I arrived at Smokey Mo's about 4:45pm to pickup my order. I was prepare to wait a few minutes for it. Not necessary. It was sitting on a wire rack ready for me. It took me less than 10 minutes to get home, maybe more like 5 minutes.I explain the timing because when I got home and opened my order it was barely above room temperature. My guess is it was packed when I entered my order online and then put on the rack to wait for me some 30 to 40 minutes later. Lesson: DO NOT ORDER ONLINE FOR A LATER PICKUP. ONLY ORDER AT THE LAST MINUTE BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE.The brisket was tough. My guess would be it had not been cooked long enough or hot enough. Either way it was not easy to chew. The pork ribs were greasy and mostly fat instead of meat or some reasonable combination of the two.I also ordered two sides. They were barely above room temperature.I don't expect perfection from a place like this. But do expect something better than what I got. Life is short. I will find another place to buy BBQ when I don't want to cook it myself.
The meat was so tender and better than Rudy's as far as the Brisket and the pork. I have been here a few times and I haven't been dissatisfied yet. Give it a try and you will see it was well worth it.
Portions were a little small, but flavor was good. Quick courteous service.
