We've been eating here for years. Never had a bad experience or any bad food. The pho alone is worth the trip. And good prices! Very consistent and flavorful.
The quality and quantity of the food is not getting any better, but the price is way too high. Even with the inflation considerations, it is not reasonable.
I've been going here for years, and this is without a doubt my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the North Houston area. I've tried pho and vermicelli dishes from places all over the Houston, DFW, and Austin areas, and Pho An makes the most intense, flavorful, clear broth, with the most generous and fresh trimmings. I've never had a bad dish from this restaurant in the years I've been going, and I've tried nearly everything on the menu at this point. I cannot recommend this place enough, fantastic service, fantastic food, fantastic place to eat. The vietnamese egg rolls and beef on a stick are my personal recommendations as well, absolutely delicious, my husband and I go crazy over them.
Honestly have to say this place is generally ok for the price and convenience but it was terrible today. It cannot be blamed on a new cook or something, as everything looked and tasted old. The ginger itself was sour and off color and the sushi shrunk at least a third in it's size. I got the shrimp fried rice and again shrunken portions and taste was off. I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up sick. I think Weisun or something like that is just up the road save the potential regret and stomach ache.
Talk about price gouging! They've increased prices, they bumped up ALL appetizers by a dollar! A SMALL bowl of egg drop soup is 4.75, some menu items increased by $4! This is absolutely insane! I WON'T be back. For comparison I've included pictures of the menu, the ones with stickers are the new prices. Absolutely stupid how much they jumped in price.
Ordered 4 times. 1st time on December was great...next 3 times bad. Constantly forgetting things such as the vegtibles you add to the pho, ordering extra chicken and getting half the normal amount, even once ordered a small wontong soup and only got broth...not a single wontong. Customer serivce is horrible, they dont even ask a name when you call in a order and hang up the phone without confirming the order....and they get annoyed when you check the order while picking up... we decided not to order from there any more. Better to go to the Thai Cottage 3 more miles down the road.. the Pheonix isnt bad, but Thai cottage is the best we found.
The best place all around that I have been to in so long. Pho was great, broth was perfect and the sushi was fresh and delicious.
Stopped in for a quick snack while at Methodist Hospital. Within easy walking distance. Food was satisfying and filling. I would eat there again. Had sushi and spring rolls.
They need employee training. Nobody coming when we eat, never say Hi, or thankyou, bye.. very unkindness always.
First visit to try the pho, the broth has a sweetness to it that threw the taste off. The vietnamese egg rolls were actually very good and the shaggy dog we got this roll because you cannot mess it up. The roll was good. We visited for an early dinner, maybe 3 tables including ours. The service is not great or even good, asked for more jalapeños and never recieved it nor a follow up. We did not get any service after our food was brought. Did not get our tab we had to go to the front which wasn't the issue it was the lack of checking in or even trying to ask if anything else is needed, place another order.
