We came for dinner around 4:30. It wasn't busy. The outside of the restaurant made us question if it was still in business…no signage of the building itself. But when you walk in it’s clean and nicely put together! Staff are so very professional, too. I got the sausage and pulled pork. Hubs got brisket and turkey. We shared the meats and we both really liked the sausage (a little spicy with bold flavor) and the brisket (just enough marbling to give it nice flavor). Neither of us liked the pulled pork…a first for us. Can’t really put a finger on it, but it was kind of mushy? The big pieces were fine, but the smaller pieces just had a weird mouth-feel. Maybe they used something besides a pork shoulder? I don’t know, but we didn’t like it. The turkey was turkey…would have been better with crispy roasted skin still attached. Our sides were Mac-n-cheese and beans…both average. When we walked in, we wanted to love this place, but it fell short with the food.

This is an amazing find- the BBQ is so good, we all stuffed ourselves. We are staying at Margaritaville and just got sick of resort food (and prices). This place is close by, has great service and even better food. We had the BBQ stuffed grilled cheese, Mac and cheese with BBQ, and a burger - all 5 stars, but the grilled cheese was the table favorite.

I came to this restaurant during an event I was attending. I figured I would get some of the barbeque to go and order fried pickles while I was there. Fried pickles would be a nice snack as they always seem to get soggy when you take them home. Let's start with the fact the fried pickles were amazing and they were cooked so well I probably could have taken them home without them becoming soggy! (Next time I will) As for the meat, I picked up pulled pork and jalapeno sausage. They were both pretty good, but the jalapeno sausage had much more of a kick than I expected. I don't mind spice, I just wasn't expecting it, so if you like only a little spice then pass on the sausage. The customer service was really great, friendly and accommodating. So come here, try the food, enjoy the customer service and don't forget the fried pickles!!

If I could give 10 stars I would!!My fiancé and I came here for a tasting after being referred by a friend who lives in the area. We live on the other side of Houston, but our wedding and rehearsal will be in the woodlands/conroe area. Let me tell you, I’d drive across town any day for those ribs. My fiancé comes from a place where hospitality is important and during Covid + moving to houston, hospitality has seemed to disappear. HOWEVER, that is not the case here. The food is FANTASTIC, and the service is EVEN BETTER! It’s the kind of place that makes you want to spend your money there. I attached a photo of the spread we were given for our tasting and we were sent home with leftovers. Mckenzie’s makes you feel like they care about even the smallest orders. They’re professional, generous, and their food is GREAT! We’ll definitely be back and can’t wait for the big day!!Thank you, Colin, for making our experience great!

This is the second time we've eaten at McKenzie's. So far, everything we've had here so far, short of the brisket, has been good. The ribs, beans, onion rings, fries jalapenos, cheeseburger, coleslaw, teas (sweet & crisp apple tea), and jalapeno sausage has all been great. The fries are prepared very small, not particularly my favorite type, but they are "okay". Unfortunately, the brisket is nothing special. On both of our visits, our large party has found the brisket to be borderline flavorless. The little flavor the brisket does have is similar to an oven prepared roast. We assume this will never change but it won't keep us from going again in the future.

This is the best BBQ in Montgomery County hands down. The brisket melts in your mouth like butter! Not only is the quality of the food superb but the quantity you get makes it a "more for your money" place to eat. The cashier was very patient helping me choose what entree to go with. We eat here at least once a week now its a family tradition! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great food. Brisket is wonderful. The onion rings are the BEST.

Ribs and onion rings excellent. Grilled cheese with brisket was soggy, disappointing. I’d go back for the ribs!!!

One of the better BBQ restaurants around…I am pretty picky on ribs and these are the best in the area in my opinion. The chopped beef grilled cheese sandwich is amazing as well. Keep up the great work!

Good BBQ. Had the brisket, smoked turkey, and ribs. Brisket moist and tender, turkey was full of smokey flavor and moist and tender, ribs were fall off the bone delicious! Cole slaw was really good, but the mac and cheese could have been better. Wife's burger was really good and the onion rings were fair.
