The Cookshack College Station opened in November 2021 and is the new spot to go. Their Nashville hot chicken is great! They have different levels of spice and I prefer the medium although the hot is also good if you want some heat. I liked the mac n cheese and the fries were just okay, a little too salty. I’ll be back to The Cookshack!
I love giving 5 stars to restaurants however I just can't do it on this one and it has nothing to do with the food. The food was outstanding. I ordered the chicken and waffles and a side a cole slaw. The chicken tenders were very fresh and likely battered and fried when I ordered. I chose the mild hotness and that was enough to light me up. The slaw was perfectly sweet and the fries were crisp.Lasty, the waffles were simply perfect. Tasty and light and fluffy. My problem with this location was the confusion when entering. There's no decals on the door and it's confusing which door to enter through. When entering the restaurant, you're greeted with hand sanitizer and a stainless steel bar to the right with no signs telling you what to do. There's also a large counter in the back with the menu on the wall and that's where I went. However, I must have skipped the line by the bar but they took my order anyway. Service was outstanding and food was outstanding. I highly recommend this place to eat. The best chicken tenders I've had in a long time.
Food and service was phenomenal. 10/10 highly recommend. Just bummed we didn’t discover this place sooner. Chicken was juicy, ribs were flavorful, and waffles were fluffy. Toddler had been super picky about food for two days. His fast ended here. He nearly ate all his fries and most of his chicken.
After taking a chance on a new restaurant, my expectations were blown out of the water! This is the most incredible chicken I have ever had! The chicken and waffles plate is superbly delicious; the seasoning on the chicken is sooo right and the crunch-factor on the tenders just makes your mouth melt. I recommend this place to anyone looking for some exceptional food and cozy vibes. I cannot wait to be back ! :)
One of the best restaurants I’ve had in college station (that’s not a franchise). The hot chicken was like hot Cheetos spicy so that’s a good reference. Pretty moist, way better than the average Canes or Whataburger. The sweet potato fries were nice and crispy. Next time, I’ll need to get more sauce because 1 just isn’t enough. I love how they give a 10% discount for A&M students.
The cookshack is new to college station, so we wanted to try it. The ribs and fried chicken were amazing! You can choose the level of spice, so there was a good option for everyone in our party. Also, the service was great! All the employees seemed to really enjoy working there, which made for a fun atmosphere. Will definitely return!
Went later in the evening on Sunday when everything else in town was cleaning up or closed.I ordered the salad & my companion ordered the tenders with fries, mild heat level.We were both pleasantly surprised with the speed at which our food was brought out. Everything was presented well & looked fresh.Salad had a good array of greens, with almonds, dates, goat cheese, and a nice vinaigrette. The chicken in the salad was tasty, but I would have liked it better if it was cut into chunks vs. thinly sliced. The thin slices made me think it was almost like lunch meat. Still tasty, but not my personal preference.My friend ordered the tenders, which an order of 3 were about the size of almost 2 large chicken breasts. Great portions and both the tenders and fries were well seasoned. The mild heat level was making his nose run, so he said next time he might order the next level down.Overall a great surprise & cool find on our list. Will return in the future!
My husband and I came here on a Saturday night. We got a seat right away and the food was out in just a few minutes! The ribs and Mac n cheese are the BEST!! I also tried the chicken and waffles which were also great. The manager is very friendly, and the staff is awesome! Definitely coming back!!
Not just another chicken strip joint. The Cook shack offers a tasty rack of ribs and large delicious Belgian waffle served with a bigger better tender. The Chicken is oh so tender and you set the thermostat and how cool or as hot as you can handle them not to mention great atmosphere great staff definitely a place you want to visit with friends and family
Fantastic first time at The Cookshack. I like hot food and chose the Texas Hot. It was delicious but had me downing the fresh lemonade. Definitely want to come back and try the ribs next time. Decor and atmosphere are great. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I’d come back just for that level of service.
