This was my first and hopefully last trip to Porters. It was "standard." The room was small, but quite loud. When we arrived at our reservation time we had to wait about five minutes to be seated. Not because they were busy, but for the opposite reason. They were slow, open tables everywhere. They were not prepared. There was an annoying fly that would not go away. Our waitress took forever to bring my iced tea, and she forgot the lime wedge i requested twice. I ran out of tea in my glass on two different occasions. I chose the salmon for my entree. Honestly it was nothing special. It wasn't bad, but not great. The vegetables were over cooked, actually a bit dried out. My wife got the house filet with bacon wrapped shrimp. She said the shrimp were quite good, but never said anything about her steak. This was our Anniversary, and not what I had hoped it would be. We did meet a couple sitting in the table next to us, and had a great conversation with them while waiting on our waitress to get her act together. Would I recommend Porters to someone to eat. Probably not. Perhaps I caught them on a bad day. They came highly recommended to me. Why, I cannot say. Next anniversary I will go somewhere else.

Always choose Porters when we are in Aggieland. Best steaks in town and service! We also love the location and service.
Our son competes occasionally just outside College Station and so we love staying at The George and eating at Porterâs. Itâs has become our thing and I love it every time. The staff is always so affable and attentive. Love the steaks and cocktails.

We love porters but the last 2 times weâve been there the food has been sub par. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was well done. Also the entrees came out at different times. We enjoy the atmosphere and have had great experiences there before

We loved every aspect and the service was superb. Relaxed and delicious. Could dress up for a night out but smart summer casual fit right in, too!
We have been to Porters several times. While every time is a great experience, this past time the food was not the excellency that we have seen in the past. The staff was amazing, and the atmosphere was great, but there were a couple of issues with food this time. Overall, a good experience.
