We timed our trip to stop and eat in College Station. C&J BBQ was the place to go. The slice beef plate was tender and juicy. I told the owner so as he happened by and was checking on one of his restaurants to be sure things were working as he intended. As he told us, "he was probably the highest paid bus boy in town". That commitment keeps the staff on their toes and his kids who run the dad to day know their DAD is still around.
The worse BBQ I've ever ate. The ribs were less seasoned, less tender it did not fall off the bone, it had too much fat, and was over price for 2 ribs. The brisket was dry, was not tender, and was bland. The burnt ends were tuff and it tasted like it was cooked with cayenne , ginger and cinnamon. The sides I chose were the mash potatoes which tasted weird and the green beans were bland and their BBQ sauce they gave me was trash it tasted like straight ketchup.
Well, most of my BBQ-preference for lunch friends are either this place, Martin's, maybe Cody's for the sides ... Cooper's still a "must" to try.Amazed at their loyalty to C&J's. The sliced beef sandwich was to die for and the jalapeño/cheese sausage sandwich was really good! However, the best is the peach and blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream for dessert‼️????
One of the best BBQ dinners I've had. Brisket, Spicy Sausage, Ranch Potatoes. Potato Salad was bland for my taste. It was so good, my nephew had us go back for lunch and I had an awesome Cheeseburger. Close to Kyle Field.
They have the absolute most delicious brisket and ribs that we’ve ever eaten!! The sides were delicious also. Don’t come to College Station without eating here. I can’t wait to come back!!
I went here yesterday around 5:30, and my goodness, the young guy at the window was so rude! He never smiled, he didn’t greet me, and he was very impatient when I asked questions. I understand businesses need staff badly, but they should truly focus on people who provide GOOD customer service!
Great BBQ with a smoked pork belly. This location is in a small strip mall behind a gas station. Don't let that fool you, this BBQ is the real deal. Their brisket is on point
Ordered family pack 2 over the phone for pickup, wasn't provided any condiments napkins or utensils. One of the sides had a hair in it. 2 stars overall for product quality and condition.
Brother this bbq had my blood pressure ?through the roof it was so good. 5 stars all day. 3 meat plate can feed 2 people honestly. try the jalapeños poppers so good!
