Mixed experience. I think the sushi is fresh and excellent with well seasoned rice. The service could use a little work. I didn't get soup and salad in the lunch combo, and when I asked about it I only got a half filled bowl of broth without any salad. I might return for take-out, but wouldn't dine in again.
Incredible sushi, huge bento box for lunch, and spicy ramen with great flavor. Our server was new, but she did great! All day Happy Hour prices, great variety of bento boxes, sushi, and appetizers! This was our first time here but we can’t wait to come back!
I come here for the bowls usually and the only thing I wish is that they had more content. The bowls are usually comprised of 80% rice and just a little bit of fish.
Service was good however the food was mediocre at best. The tuna/salmon are obviously not fresh, they are frozen and you can taste it in the rolls. I got the chicken bento box but received miso soup that had little to no flavor, house salad that was a head of lettuce drenched in soy sauce, and the chicken was more of a bourbon style that I immediately spit out upon trying. There is plenty of amazing sushi restaurants in college station including 40 tempera so keep that in mind before going here and literally leaving unsatisfied and hungry still.
Today, I tried the 회덮밥 here. (I don't want to cook today) The food is better than I expected.(Actually I have some expectations whenever I come here.) The taste is almost same when I had it in Korea. I've never tried 회덮밥 at another Japanese restaurant in CS, however, if you want to enjoy 회덮밥 (korean style sushi bowl), I definitely recommend this place
This place is not good at all. Probably worse than yummy yummy which really says something. If your a college student and you don’t know what good sushi is and just want something cheap it might for work for you. However if you have any taste buds at all stay far far away from this place. Literally H-E-B sushi is an upgrade from here.
First time coming here and I'm impressed, I got a sushi bowl and for about 11 bucks that bowl was huge. I was hungry after a 2 hour drive from Houston and I still had about half left for later. The bowl also came with a small cup of miso soup. Although the was one thing I noticed when inside is that it's a little dark but at the same time the sun wasn't out but overall I'd come here again whenever I come by and get the chance to.
Visiting from out of town and decided to pick up dinner. Had great service and a welcoming host. Ordered the Nagiri mix and the VIP roll. Most of the Nagiri was blow torched so much of it tasted the same. The vip roll was covered in mayo. Happy to see the staff wearing masks properly. Not a big fan of the Nagiri I got, but happy with the service.
I ordered chirashi which has 12 pieces of different fish served with wasabi and ginger. Portion was really satisfying and ingredients were all fresh and tasted great. I also ordered tempura cheesecake that is served warm and it was also great, actually I think this version of cheesecake tastes better than the regular one. Staff was very friendly and they regularly checked for water refills and asked me if everything was good. Overall, I have had one of my best experiences in College Station in terms of dining in.
Amazing place where the food is way better than the service. Our definite comeback and highly recommend..
