We decided to grab some lunch from 40 Tempura Japanese Fusion Grill. Everything was pretty great, with the exception of one thing, including the food, service, wait-time, and location.Because we visited during lunch on a weekday, it wasn't crowded thus no wait time. The location was easy to find, and there were ample parking spaces. The service was also very nice and attentive.We all wanted to order the Bentos — Roll, Tempura Roll, and Sushi. The Roll Bento tasted great. The Sushi Bento was fresh. The kicker was the Tempura Roll Bento—which tasted oilier than expected. I didn't enjoy eating the Tempura Roll Bento because one bite into the Shrimp Tempura, and you can feel the oil oozing out.Overall, I don't think I'd visit again. I'm giving service and location 5/5, but food was a 3/5 for me.
We sat at the sushi bar due to the longer wait. Watching the chefs spend their time and effort creating a gorgeous works of art that you eat was a fantastic experience. We had the Texas Roll and a simple California and they were simply divine. Best sushi I have had in College Station so far! Will definitely return some point in the future.
My daughter & I enjoyed a nice dinner on the patio tonight. We were so impressed with the food and the service that I had to write a review. We loved the crab balls & the fried rice was the best I have ever tasted in my life. Our waiter Bryce provided excellent service and we are looking forward to making this one of our regular dining spots. I highly recommend you check it out. You definitely won't be disappointed. So my family and I have been fans of this restaurant for years but I will never step foot in there again after tonight. I was there with 3 ladies and we had drinks, appetizers, soup, and sushi and spent over $200 total. After 2 hours, since there was wait, the waiter came and said my manager wanted me to let you know there’s a patio outside for you guys to sit and talk.. it’s 40 degrees outside.. really.... so we were asked to leave!! I am appalled and disgusted at the lack of class and customer service.. We were just about to get up and leave anyway. I will never go back to give them my business or recommend them to anyone again. There are too many really good restaurants to treat customers like that.. I’m seething!!
Absolutely amazing establishment! The miso was home made. Edamame fresh, sushi was entirely soooo tasteful! Our waiter Treshaun was super attentive as well! The menu was very detailed and the best part was the cheesecake! Omg the presentation, the sweetness and crunchiness worked perfectly together

The food was absolutely amazing and so very tasty! The atmosphere was relaxing and our waiter TreShaun was a delight. He was very professional and courteous. We hope to have him next time we're there. Definitely try this place out!
I was craving steak. My girlfriend was craving sushi. Sushi it is! She got the bridge. I got the hibachi. Both were excellent.
I absolutely love this place. I never thought I'd like sushi in any way until 5 years ago my then-girlfriend and I tried it. Their food never ever is less than perfect, whether dining in or taking out. It's a small intimate atmosphere with great service. I have had nothing but love for this place and I am elated it survived the economic disaster of late.
