I was worried when I first got seated because it took a few minutes for a waiter. But that’s my only complaint. Once arrived, waiter was very attentive. Chips are served with warm salsa. I am from a different state and not had it that way before. I ordered the whole fried tilapia with steamed vegetables. Oh my goodness! It was delicious! Gumbo was tomato based but yummy as well. I would definitely return.

La Costa had a nice vibe about the restaurant, but in my eyes, it just fell short of being good. The food was very mediocre and didn't have a lot of flavor. Out of my order, only 1 of 3 things was right (mistakes whose replacements were added to our check ?). There were a lot of flies INSIDE the restaurant and our waitress, although nice, was very slow with getting our orders and what not. It was not awful but I don't think I'll be dining there again any time soon.
Very nice vibes! Off to itself in a country like setting. Outdoor seating available with bar as well. TVs and lots of seating. Country and Spanish music plays through the night. Food was good, drinks good. Service very good. No complaints
We love the food here. Also it's one of our favorite places to eat crab other than at home. The service is great and the food is too. You can't go wrong choosing to eat here. They're prices are competitive with the typical prices you would find at a casual seafood restaurant. We will dine here more in the future
We knew Chef Jim Condra from his time at Artesian Lakes, so we were eager to try La Costa when it opened. We have been dining there maybe once every six weeks or so ever since then. It's around a 45 minute drive for us, or we'd be there more often. Ever since my first visit to Tampico Mexico (long, long ago), I have been a huge fan of Mexican-style seafood. This is where La Costa excels. They have a huge menu...more than you would expect to see in Cleveland, Texas. So many choices that I struggle to choose what I want, although I usually end up with the whole fried tilapia that is covered in a green sauce. But every dish I've tried has been fantastic. They have a very large choice of appetizers...I could make a meal on the oysters and on the shrimp cocktails. They make an excellent chunky guacamole that we always order on the side as well. If the weather is nice, we always enjoy eating outside, under the cabana. Inside you have choices of booths or tables. Nothing fancy here, as it's all about the food. While seafood is the focus, they also serve some traditional Mexican food that is also very good. If you enjoy Mexican-style desserts, you can't go wrong there either. I love their huge margaritas. I'm very alcohol tolerant, plus a big guy, but I have to limit myself to two of these with my meal. They are so good that I usually have one downed with chips and salsa before my meal ever arrives. If you like fresh seafood cooked perfectly, you need to try La Costa. I don't give many 5-star reviews, but I am happy to give one to this restaurant.
This place had the best service I've had in a long time wish I would have gotten the waitress name to give her a the thanks she deserves. The food was good also I had a great time with my family
Excellent seafood restaurant. Boom boom tacos, crab legs, fried catfish and shrimp were all on point. Highly recommend.Edit...something happened between my first few visits and today. Chips weren't served for several minutes chips that were served are a bunch of useless cornflakes.
We had a wonderful visit previous to this Mothers day visit. The food was flavorful, but cold. I ordered the beef and shrimp skewers. They were cold. The refried beans were cold and the rice was cold. The drinks were amazing. Great Margaritas!
The ambiance was fun, the food was great and the service was excellent!!! I was traveling through the area and had read the online menu, which is extensive, before hand - it sounded wonderful so I took a chance and I'm so glad I did!! Yummy! I will gladly take a long detour to get back here in the future!
