Went there to eat on the assumption that it was pretty clean with good service Granted we got there late to eat. Staff never really paid attention much to customers wanted to get out of there and go home . Waited for about 15 minutes before anybody noticed I was trying to get their attention to order. Air conditioner not working. Floors look like they haven't been cleaned in a while. Husband said when he got up to the counter away from the fence didn't have a nice smell smelt like old grease. Could say I've been to D&M diner and would not go back there again
The experience was a bit rough. Restaurant is very run down. Staff could smile a little and at least remember or write down who ordered what. Instead if guessing and almost giving away our food. The food was subpar burger tasted more like a cheese grilled sandwich than a burger fries were well if you ever had in & out fries you may like their fries. Wife had the chicken fried steak. Said it tasted like they used really old oil or just nasty oil period granted it was 100 degrees and they had box fans to try and help it was hot and muggy. Cole slaw was bland. Potato Salad was good. Onion rings were good and sweet tea was perfect. One thing I will say is even though I didn't enjoy my meal it was fairly priced. Wanted to try dessert but I didn't want to be let down on their pies.
This place was soooo Phenomenal !! I am one picky eater an this place was AMAZING!!! Great customer service was a last minute it's Sunday night traveling from Galveston over the holiday weekend an they were about to close. The waitress was herself yet "over the day" like all over ussometimes but still was very friendly an productive all at the same time! Portions were great for the price if your his town is so lucky to have this hometown cafe!! If your driving through don't hesitate to STOP an EAT!!
Typical little hometown restaurant that knows how food should be made! I don't know how the cook managed it, but we both had a different menu breakfast and we couldn't find that excess grease that always seems to come with bacon, fried eggs and hash browns! My omelet was cooked to perfection and the bacon in it was just how I like it...crisp! Definitely worth the stop! Oh, and the prices were great!
Delicious homemade food. Coffee is perfect as well. Pancakes are huge. Everyone is friendly and very relaxed. Don't go in if you're in a rush, take your time and enjoy it.
D&M Diner is a memory for me and my husband. We went here when jukeboxes were on the table. It says something about a place that has been in business that long. The food was still good and the service was great.
Every time I go to this place it's always a great experience. It's just a simple family style diner, with a charming atmosphere and really delicious food. I have never been disappointed. Their burgers are simply awesome! The waitstaff are very pleasant and helpful. For the price, you can't beat it.
The staff is extremely friendly to their patrons, and the prices for food are a bargain. When on shift, the server's give first responders a discount. This is certainly unnecessary, but extremely appreciated! Thank you for all your hard work, and what you do as well!
Enjoyed eating breakfast there this morning with my family. Personal shoutout to our waitress Diana! She was on top of her game and made sure we had excellent service! We will definitely be back! Also the cook did a superb job!!!
We were headed to a Halloween activity in Cleveland, hadn't eaten since breakfast. D&M was the only regular restaurant open. Restrooms were outside, like the old fashioned gas stations, filthy. Almost decided right there not to go into the diner. Everyone talks about family owned "hole in the wall" places end up with awesome food so we went in. Absolutely filthy, floors, ceiling a/c vents, window sills covered in caked on dirt. The waitress was the sweetest ever, attentive and friendly. The pulled pork had good flavor but it was dry. Homemade potato salad and sweet potato fries were great. As we left, waitress was putting chairs on the tables, like restaurants do at closing so cleaners can wash the floors. 1st: floors hadn't been washed in years to begin with and 2nd: she stood the chairs on the tables, with the filthy chair legs sitting on the tops of the tables. Biggest surprise, well not really, was when I glanced up at the window where I was sitting. A bullet hole! Either Health Inspectors are paid off or they've never been to this diner in years. Very unfortunate, it has a lot of potential to be a cute local family diner.
