Amaya's is across the street from the hotel we stayed at. The parking lot was constantly so we decided to go try it out. The service was excellent and the food was really good. We only had a chance to try their breakfast and hope to go back another time for lunch. The salsa was delicious and the chips were hot and fresh.

I just wanted to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Amaya's for taking care of our employees last week during the winter storm. Many employees were held over to assist the citizens of Austin; Amaya came through for us and provided hot food for our employees. Thank you, thank you, thank you soooo much for thinking of us. We got our Christmas tamales today. We couldn’t wait any longer, we had some tonight! Yum! Teresa’s Tamales is a true treasure! If you travel through Mora be sure to stop, you will not be sorry!
Went to eat with my husband and his brother and our server Ana S (said the bill) which looked like she hated her job, didn't seem to care about our dining experience. She kept telling us about her troubles with her ex and basically throwing herself at my bro in law while we're all needing a refill. Your policy when you get hired is do not bring your problems to work i believe. Very unprofessional in our opinion. Will not go back. Food was nice and hot but need new lively wait staff.
Used to live in El Turqillo back in 2010-12 during summers. Teresa's was a regular stop. She always made up a few dozen of each variety & froze up containers of green chile for my trip home to AZ in November. The veggie style is very good too!
The food was okay. My husband enjoyed his beef fajitas, but my chicken tacos were somewhat bland. Our waiter was not very attentive. He either had too many tables or was just not a good waiter.
Best tacos in Austin. Order the village taco plate #23 sub beef fajita. Nachos Compuestos sub beef fajita are delicious as well.
I’ll say up front that I’ve only eaten here once, so only 4 stars. I’ll definitely be back and try other menu items and might give ‘em 5 stars just for the food. From the highway you might not be tempted to pull in, but there’s usually a crowd of cars and trucks parked there, so that’s a good indicator of the food. I had a burrito while my friend was waiting for a couple dozen tamales to be made. Theresa also brought us samples of the red and green chili to try. Both were great. Friendly staff. I’ll be back.
A couple of girlfriends and I stopped at this little local eary and loved it! Took home tamales and a quart of green chili sauce, yes it that good!
