Brisket is my favorite, sliced not shaved. Staff if extremely friendly, polite, helpful. Hidden gem for great food, not fancy, at a great price
I placed my order at another location by accident and the girl working the cypress store tonight made me a plate on the spot. Told me she would take care of my mistake. Thank you for making my order on the spot w/o hesitation. great customer service from her and the others working tonight. I’ll always come back to this location ??
Excellent barbecue and great service. Sad that they don't have fried okra anymore, but the counter guy recommended the beans and those were pretty good. Nice and clean location, will go again.

We have been a long-time patron of Smokey Mo's and have always recommended them and used them for catering events. Recently something has changed. The menu, staff, pricing, & quality have all changed. The staff is no longer the friendly, welcoming bunch. The quality of food has gone down & the prices have gone up. I realize that anyone can have an off day, so my review is not based off of one visit. My last three visits have been sub-par.In Aug we ordered a family pack. The BBQ was dry and the flavor seemed as they had used a heavy hand with liquid smoke. Not the normal quality Smokey Mo's is known for.Just before Thanksgiving, I called to see if they could take a large order (3 family packs) They assured me they could I spent an hour putting together an order for over $300 of BBQ. Just as they were about to take payment, I was told that the manager decided they should not accept this order as it was a busy time and they did not want to sell their BBQ on family packs when they could sell on individual orders.We went back after Thanksgiving. This time, for just one family pack. The ribs were more fat than meat. The brisket was so fatty, the butcher paper separated and stuck to the meat. What they served as sliced brisket, they would have normally turned to chopped beef. There were 3 people working behind the counter, No one greeted any of the customers or said thank you customers paying. Others waiting made comments about it as well and pointed out that they heard it recently changed ownership. The girl working behind the counter did not know who owned or managed the restaurant.The biggest disappointment is the change in the staff. Everyone has always been so friendly and welcoming there. You were always made to feel welcome and appreciated. Unfortunately that is no longer the situation.Austin has too many really great BBQ places with good food & service. I hate to say it, but take Smokey Mo's off of your list of places to get BBQ. There's at least 5 others within a stones throw that are better all around.
Visiting from Orlando and wanted BBQ seen the reviews thought this would be a great stop. Sadly I was wrong ? This place gave us lukewarm food to begin with. My aunt ordered a 2 meat plate and told the worker that she doesn’t like end pieces of the rib he only gave her two pieces but it comes with three. Got home to enjoy the food and nearly 4/5 ppl who ordered threw there entire plate away.
Disappointed to order a “Frito Pie”, get home, and see that Mo’s didn’t put any Fritos into the Frito Pie. It can’t be that hard gentlemen. So I basically paid $9 for a bowl of beans and cheese.
Some of the best BBQ I've had in a while. The brisket is delicious. Everything is actually pretty fantastic except for the Mac and cheese. That was ok but I don't expect much from any restaurant Mac and cheese.
Great place, attention breakfast is served till 10:30, so no more coffee for the rest of the day, great menu and very nice staff!!! The meats specially the turkey are great!!!
Have always liked the food, great value! We had a mishap during a catering setup for my business. It was tough to deal with, but Smokey Mo's came through on the backend doing all they could to make up for it and I can appreciate that! They deserve 5 stars for the effort in making things right! Thank you!
