My husband and I shared a Carne Asada plate, it came with a choice of 2 sides (8 oz.) Rice and Charro Beans is what we picked for our 2 sides. It was served with grilled onion, pico de gallo,(2 salsa) 1 red salsa and 1 green salas & tortillas. And we got corn tortillas and we ordered extra . The service was good and so was the food. We forgot to take a picture but this from there website.
Chicken was very dry. I also purchased guac and it did not come with chips. So I asked the cashier if I could buy some chips she said yes and then was like "have a nice day." I said "can I buy the chips here?" she said" oh, yes $3.25." $3.25 for a small bag of chips that would normally be included in a guac purchase?? Ok. I paid it and went home to my dry chicken and raw half of an onion. I won't be back.
The cashier had a really bad attitude. She was super rude, I felt like I was bothering her by placing my order, the food was good as always. I probably won't come back to this location.
If you want some good authentic Mexican food that's fast you can't beat El Pollo Rico. This location is especially good! Also they have bar service ? and you can even get margaritas through the drive thru. Give them a try I highly recommend them!
I literally could eat here all day and all night. Best Carne Asada
We used to love El Pollo Rico... Until they started serving refrigerated tacos. The location in Leander is giving their chain a bad name, as the Lamar location was always amazing.Beware of cold food. I don't believe this location cooks the food, but has it delivered to it and stored in refrigerators for later severing... As that's the only way to explain ice cold chicken and meat.
I forgot just how delicious their char-grilled chicken is. Really good food at a great price. The house made chips and salsa is fantastic. Hubby really likes the green sauce.
I’ve ordered from this location only 2-3 times in the past 3 months. Each time the food was a little cold or tough as if it’s been left out too long. This afternoon my husband and I went to get 5 tacos. 3 barbacoa, 1chicken, and 1 al pastor. They were all COLD! The chicken taco was cold like they’d just pulled it out of the refrigerator!! That is completely UNACCEPTABLE! I drove back and asked for a refund. It was $20 for 5 tacos that were cold, if I need to go home and reheat my food then they need to be sold at a discount, unbelievable. The fact that the girl working the counter didn’t bat an eye when I told her my issue, let’s me know this is not something new. It really disappointed me because I’ve had nothing but amazing food and service from other Pollo Rico locations in Austin.
The staff is friendly and good with English, I’m taking away 2 start because they hardly gave us any meat on our order. My torta was mostly bread, sauces and lettuce.
The best charcoal grill chicken in town. The flavor was spot on. Only issue I have is there no locations in Houston.
