Went to El Rey specifically to try the queso birria. They come in 5 packs only and I think they're 11-12 bucks an order. I bought two orders for my wife and I to have for lunch and dinner. They were amazing. The tacos were crispy on the outside, juicy and cheesy on the inside. The consume that comes with them was so flavorful with just the right amount of spice. Their green salsa that comes with it may be the best I've ever had. I cannot recommend this place enough.
The Birria tacos were good. 5 for 13 bucks not bad at all. My husband had the barbacoa tacos, he enjoyed them as well.
I had the tacos al pastor and they were amazing with rice and beans very worth it and it was the lunch special. The girl in the register was nice and professional.
Ask for a boil type of seafood. I asked for butter he stayed he added butter. Not the case shrimp was cold and the butter was watery. I threw the food away and went to McDonald's ?
This is so amazing! I had the Loaded Beef Fajita Fries and they were absolutely the best I've ever had. Will definitely be coming here on a regular basis.
This place is great! I recommend trying trying Birira quesatacos. It's pretty much street taco with quesadilla shell that you dip in a soup. Messy but great!
We're new to the area and were looking for something to eat for dinner this evening. We happened upon El Rey in Alvarado. I ordered the chicken fajitas, and my husband ordered the 3 street taco dinner. The cashier was also our server and he was as nice as can be. The food was delicious, hot, and fresh. We'll definitely be back!
My favorite restaurant in the whole county! The quesabirria tacos with the consume is a dream come true! The crab and shrimp are always cooked perfectly!!! I’m always ridiculously happy with everything I’ve gotten from them!
The best restaurant in Alvarado, period. My family goes there like every other week. Our favs are the crabs and shrimp AND the birria tacos!!
