It was our first visit to Cotton Patch very nice place very clean our waitress was very nice and friendly but seemed a little distracted with other staff members. but overall it was a good experience and we will come back.
The food was okay my rice was a bit hard like when it's been overcooked or sat in the fridge uncovered, BUT I HAD TO come on here and write a review because our waitress Kayla was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! My kids (3 yr and almost 2yr old) were a handful and she made our experience so much better by talking to the kids and sitting with them to calm them down and I felt bad and thanked her and she said she had a son at home so she knew how I felt. She definitely went above and beyond with our kids. She was very helpful and gave the kids some treats but was always respectful and always said I'm gonna give you this but you can have it if your parents say it's okay or when she saw us struggling to get them to sit she said I'm going to give you this but only if you listen to your parents and sit down. SUPER HELPFUL and very polite and friendly! She definitely made our experience more enjoyable, and I'll make sure to call ahead anytime we want to return to make sure she's working!
Great food. Horrible service. The whole environment was very lackadaisical. Lots of staff standing around doing nothing. It was as if there was absolutely no management around, so nobody was motivated to give good service. We waited unbelievably long to be seated (it was 9 pm on a Monday night and was NOT the least bit busy). When they finally acknowledged us waiting, they very nonchalantly went to clean a table for us (there were lots of dirty tables waiting to be bussed). They removed the dirty dishes, and then chatted with some co-workers, then washed the table, then chatted with some co-workers again, then eventually and finally seated us, at a soaking wet table. When we asked for a towel to dry the table ourselves, they very slowly came over with paper napkins and ran their hands over about 1/3 of the table. It was very much a Twilight Zone moment. I've truly never seen such a "do not care", everyone walking around half asleep overall environment. We love Cotton Patch, but not this particular one (our first time at this location).
Stopped in for lunch, great as always. Had Strawberry Pecan salad. Guest had Chicken Fried Brisket. He said leave that deep fried food to the County Fair ?!
June 2021! I had the chicken spaghetti and butter cake and it was delicious, I just wish the chicken spaghetti had more cheese and seasonings but overall for it to come from a restaurant it was good! It was my first time here and won't be my last, I'm in love with this place and can't wait to try different things on the menu. I forgot to take a pic of the spaghetti ?? but I did take one of the butter cake and as u can see in the pic, it speaks for itself. And it's whip cream and caramel sauce on top, yum? I had got it to go so that's why it's in the container. All in all I'm one satisfied customer? Update March 2022! I just had chicken fried brisket with cream gravy and dr.pepper sauce and it was the bomb! This place never disappoints me, and yes I said brisket and not chicken it's new on their menu, and as y'all can see I had southern green beans and mac and cheese and corn(not pictured) as my sides. I also got the new Texas Hummingbird Cake and let me just tell y'all go try it for yourselves because oh my goodness you won't be disappointed!
Such a great lunch choice!!! Thank you Ty, for being so sweet & positive & such a genuine smile!!! We had such a wonderful meal!! The house salad was so crisp & cold! Our plates were hot & fresh!!! My fave is always the fried okra!!! Keep up the great work Cotton Patch of Cedar Hill!!! This is our 2nd visit in the past 2 weeks!!! Food looked so great we didn’t make time to photograph
Note that this is an UberEats order- My daughter was unable to eat her burger because she is allergic to tomatoes and no one read that she wanted things, including tomatoes, not on her burger. It would be nice if someone read the notes. I am disabled and unable to drive. I just wanted a nice meal with my daughter and she had to throw hers away because I don’t eat red meat. Plus everything was ice cold. I’ve ordered Uber Eats a lot and from cotton patch. This is the worst service mixed with the coldest food. Overall, it’s a negative star if I could give one. ?
Manager tried to seat us in a booth with 6 people. Did not want us to put 2 tables together, so he split our group of 6. Food was ice cold. Our waitress was nice to our table but rude to other one. Manager stole a phone that was left on the table and said they never saw it. It was tracked in his apron.
Green tomatoes were flavorful and fresh. The dill sauce made the difference. Chicken fried Chicken was good, ask for more gravy. Broccoli rice casserole was better than I expected. The cinnamon apples weren’t my favorite. The sauce was too runny. I wanted a thicker heartier sauce.
We walked in waited 10 minutes to be approached only to be told by what seemed to be some sort of manager. Tables and booths empty throughout the restaurant some, few tables needing to be bussed. No enthusiasm ( sense if urgency ) at all. Even my 14 year daughter said " dad let's go, they don't seem to keep their promises here". While four other couples showed up behind us. They tried to go to the second couple that showed up after us to reserve a seat. That couple told him, (they) meaning my daughter and I were before them. Wow, way to observe the customers that came in. So we left. I wondered why when I passed by it always looked empty. Now you and I know. Good luck if you decide to go here. Really poor non-service here. Can't speak for the ones that got a seat. On how it went. But the look on there face said, " been there, done that." " Not coming back".
