Really interesting place. The decorations of the place are home style. The food there is served family style you get several vegetables mashed potatoes green beans cream corn biscuits and honey when you run out just ask for more. There are four choices of meat Fried Chicken smoked chicken chicken fried steak and chicken strips and fried catfish.Friendly service and staff. Located off main street. Visiting for the first time can be tricky getting in. Expect about $17 per person. Chicken tenders were juicy and not dry. Plenty of food. Biscuits served warm. Great alone. But even better with honey and butter. Already at the table. Good family environment and experience.
I just heard about this place so we went Saturday. We stood waiting for a few minutes, finally we were seated. The waiter wasn't happy we couldn't understand him. I asked for a menu & was told they didn't have any. I said it's my first time. I promise you I couldn't understand the young man. I should have asked someone else. Our bill was messed up completely. We asked the cashier to explain. She was smart nice nasty but thought we would let it pass, NO! She actually said, if we couldn't pay or wanted something she could get the manager. I told her I can pay but get him. While sitting at our table earlier, it was the same man that went to each table but ours asking how "they" were doing. At the time, we were the only Brown People there. THIS PLACE is Prejudice! When I shared with friends everybody said they didn't go there & I didn't have to share my story!!! Sad they all had bad experiences. When will theses people STOP? SAD just Sad!!!
It's OK. I certainly won't quit making my chicken......much more spicy and delicious. Maybe I should give Babes my recipe?????? never in a million years. When the biscuits came out, I actually thought they would "taste" like a biscuit. Not so much. Tasted like loaf bread that was formed into a biscuit. Could give y'all a super wonderful recipe for biscuits that have tons of layers too. While we're at it, y'all want my recipe for some jalapeño jelly?
I got the country fried steak. Have had better. The sides were good. Service was excellent! Wish I could remember their names. Two girls/ one was being trained. Did a great job! Have been to other locations. The energy was way more fun at the other Babe's.
Best family dining in the DFW area! Best fried chicken and fixins’ at a very reasonable price. We always visit Babe’s for a family dinner when we visit our family in Mansfield.

The chicken was pretty good but the big part of the chicken like the breast and thighs was salty but all the side was perfect. The first time there kinda felt weird eating the fried chicken because they had all this stuff chicken look down at you.
The food is always great. The service was amazing. I met a management person. His name was Rick. What a nice guy. You can tell this guy cares about the employees and especially his customers. Babes surely does amazing job on hiring great people. Me and my family will always be faithful customers.
Always a great time when we com here with family or friends to grab a bite to eat. The food and service is always great and can’t beat the price for the amount of food you get. One of the best things is the unlimited amount of sides you get, they literally keep coming. Give them a try!!
This is the best home made food that I have found in the city! Make sure you try the fresh and warm home made biscuits!! Oh my. Don't even try the chicken fried steak ?. You might have to be forced to leave, just kidding ?. You got to visit. Your tastbuds won't be disappointed!!!!
