The ribs were a bit too fatty and the sausage was not flavorful but I enjoyed the beans.
I usually love coming here but today was a flop. The menu online says you could have two sides or a baked potato. My kid is struggling to eat lately and baked potato is a safe easy food for them so it was perfect. Got to the restaurant, and they said no sorry the baked potato costs more than the plate itself, you have to pick two sides. The sides were so underwhelming. Corn with no butter, no butter on the side either, and a salad full of mostly white lettuce. I also am used to getting sides of onions, pickles, etc, but no… just the barbecue, which is watery ?
Thank you for being open. This was a quick stop for dinner and I was pleasantly surprised at how great the food was. This is my first visit in over 3 years. I ordered ribs and brisket and they both were pretty good. I like a little more fat in my brisket but this was still very well prepared. The service was excellent. The gentlemen behind the serving line asked a lot of questions and even explained the different side options. The checkout process was quick with even tap available for completing my purchase.
Friendly, fast, and woweee that BBQ sauce selection! Worth a try. I'll be back
A great place for BBQ. Beef, chicken, turkey and pork is all AWESOME. The sides are amazing as well. Did I mention fried pies? They offer dine in, carry out and drive through. Fantastic food and great service.
Sliced moist BBQ is the best! Sweet people here, too.
The toast was great. The brisket…it left a lot to be desired, but if tough, mostly flavorless beef is your thing, you’ll love it. My dog sure will!
Good BBQ Good Prices. If I could give them a 4.5 I would. I love that they are a neighborhood joint, I love their prices, and I love popping in to grab stuff to take home. The team there is generally pretty nice and I think their BBQ is good, however I've never felt like this place has the top notch, five-star stuff - especially when I start thinking sides and what-not.I read some other reviews that state my feelings on this place pretty well when they say that a number of aspects are good, but there are aspects that a bit more like cafeteria-like food (the green beans come first to mind for me as well as some of their other sides). I'd never not enjoy someone saying, "want to stop at Marshall's?" However at the same time I feel like I just can't give them 5 stars in overall game. Overall I feel like a 4.5 would be most appropriate, but since we can't go there, I'll do a 4 for now.
I'd give this place a 4 in Colorado where I moved from but a 3 here in TX simply because there are much better BBQ places in TX however, they are much more expensive. Marshall's prices bury their competitors but the difference in quality is very noticeable to a place like Terry Black's where you're going to spend double what Marshal's charges but the meat is fall off the bone quality. The ribs at Marshal's were decent but not fantastic, A little on the tough side. The sides -mac and cheese, green beans and bbq beans had the quality of cafeteria sides. Service was great.
The brisket had a Nice smoke ring to it, well smoked.Tender and juicy. The tip was a lil dry but it was still good. The ribs were also good, it need it more smoke in my opinion but very good.
