I’ve eaten at the Garcia’s in San Marcos many times in the past and it was always great. Stopped at this location while visiting my brother. It took forever to get our drinks and we had to flag someone down to order. It took over an hour to get our food and it was cold. The place is loud and cramped too. They seemed really short staffed which probably led to the terrible experience. I definitely don’t recommend until they get staffing issue under control.

We were here for 2 hours and it took us 15 minutes to eat. The Chili Relleno was excellent, but the Pork Chops were horrible. Tuff as a boot and super Salty. No Ranchero sauce on Ranchero Pork Chops. Hurry up and wait was the moto here especially with our waitress. She came one time and disappeared. Another waitress finally noticed us and took our order and got the ball rolling. When we got the bill we were charged for Ranchero sauce on Pork Chops Rancheros. 75 cents, but it's the point, the manager or whatever asked us, "do you want me to take the charge off?" by the time we got that resolved might as well taken 3 quarters out of the till. Obvously our time is unimportant to these folks. They always say if the Salsa is great with the comp chips the food will be excellent. Not so much. ...and the service besides the nice lady that took our order and tried to help was horrible.

Really disappointed with my recent takeout order- the tacos I received were cold. This is the second time this has happened to me after placing an order online.I don't usually drive through Buda in the mornings because I live on the East side and have to drive to Austin for work. BUT few restaurants in and around Austin have good tortillas like Garcia's. So, when I decide I want to order breakfast tacos from there, it takes extra planning on my part so I can have enough time to pick up breakfast and head North.Yesterday was one such day, however, bc the phone was not answered after trying to call multiple times, I placed an order online. Simple order, bean and chorizo tacos (bc - you CANNOT order bean and cheese tacos online, the option is literally not available, you have to order two proteins). When I arrived at the restaurant the lady at the window said there had been a 30 taco order placed ahead of mine. Whoa, that's a lot. No biggie though, I'll wait. 20 minutes later, window lady brings out the 30 taco order to a police officer and tells me it will still be another few minutes before my order is ready. Okay, no problem. I waited patiently and with excitement. Finally, my order is ready I am handed my togo bag and off I go to work.Once on the highway, I open my first taco to find it COLD. Not like, tepid. COLD. As if it had been sitting out - away from a heat lamp - for 20 minutes. The taco was an awful, cold, mushy, salt-bomb.I had to eat the taco despite my disgust because I need to have food with my medication and it had already been 45 minutes since I took my meds.As I said before, this is the second time this has happened to me and though the first time I never complained, I did call. The manager offered to make new tacos if I returned but I had to get to work in Austin. She then offered give me a comp to get the same tacos in the future, which I'll say was a nice gesture, but too little too late.I will never place an online order to this restaurant again. The lack of communication between front of the house staff and back of the house staff is consistently poor for takeout orders. Perhaps I will return to give the sit-down a try but honestly, everything I've had there so far is incredibly salty and I'm not sure it's entirely worth taking another risk.

I’ve been going to Garcia’s since I can remember. No other Mexican restaurant that I’ve been to can top the delicious variety of meals from this establishment in my opinion. And some days it does get crowded, but it’s well worth the wait to get in. You’ll never leave this place dissatisfied! The service is pretty good as well; I haven’t ever gotten frustrated with an employee at Garcia’s. You can tell that they like their jobs and always make you feel welcomed even on the crowded days. If you’re in town you gotta try this place out!

Nice spot, good Mexican food. Our server was in a rush and messed up my order and wife's. Nothing big though...

My 3rd Garcia's to visit and just like the others the food is magnificent. I have eaten nothing here that doesn't make me want to buy it again. Great service, prices, and food. Highly recommended!

We had breakfast tacos, bacon & egg and chorizo (Mexican sausage) with egg. Flour tortillas were good but the taco could have be a little more filled...maybe we ordered too many tacos.

Great authentic Mexican food and lunch specials. Bring your own beer or alcoholic beverage. Their chips and salsa are the best. They do close at 2pm due to limited staffing but they do offer take out

There us no zero. I would not recommend this place until they get more staff. Ordered breakfast tacos. My flour tortilla was crunchy on the edges. The potato and bacon taco had 1 bacon and a very little. potatoes.

It used to be amazing. They left me on hold for 20 minutes till I got there and hung up. Placed then order in person. Waited 40 minutes for a few breakfast tacos. Disappointing to see a really great place go down.
