The food is great but the customer service is poor. The woman at the window doesn’t say a word to you and just hands out the order and closes the window. Their website actually adds a 10% tip automatically and you have to change it yourself if you don’t want to include tip or if you’d like to tip more. I tip because I think it’s important to do so at hard working local businesses but it rubs me the wrong way when I tip and I don’t even get greeted or thanked. A simple “thank you” to your customer can go a long way. This has happened on several occasions and I think it is just poor taste. The food is good but don’t expect to be treated nicely.
The reviews about the customer service experience are spot on. The lady at the window is unwelcoming and seems bothered taking orders. Don’t expect to be greeted, thanked for your business or even smiled at by her, literally just take your food and get out is the vibe. The food is personally not worth putting up with the experience. It’s unfortunate since this is a local business.
Great tacos. Wish they’d go back to homemade tortillas though.
I have been eating at Casa Alde for 20 years and have always loved their tacos! They are one of the staples that makes Buda great. While the business model has changed, the heart and passion behind what they do stands strong! If you are new to Buda, I recommend the fattie, the jag, and the dude. You won’t be disappointed.
Go back to the homemade tortillas!Used to love their fatty tacos, would pick one up all the time even after the moved into the food truck. But I got a fatty a couple weeks ago and noticed their HEB flour tortilla off the bat. Idk what happened to the homemade ones that made it so good? But completely ruined now.. probably won’t go back.
Food is great. Kitchen is slow, very slow. If you plan to eat a breakfast taco within the hour, order elsewhere. Otherwise, food is on point.Unfortunately we had to leave the order so we could pick up food elsewhere because we couldn’t wait an hour.

Helen's Casa Alde is a Buda staple. Unfortunately, about a year ago their brick and mortar location caught fire and they now operate out of a food truck. Despite having lived in Buda for 6 years, this was my first time trying them.I recommend ordering online for fastest pick up service. I did not, and had to wait about 15 mins (no problem).I ordered 2 potato egg and cheese tacos, 2 sausage and egg tacos, 1 migas taco, and chips and queso. When I came home with my order I realized it was wrong: 2 sausage and egg tacos, 3 bacon egg and cheese tacos, and 1 chips and queso. Nonetheless we just rolled with the punches and ate what we were given.The serving size of the tacos were great, fully stuffed. I did not find the sausage very tasty, but the excellent salsa made up for that. The chips were unique, very think and crunchy (think large thick baked pita). I wasn't a fan of the texture but my wife loved it. Overall the food was good, but I prefer other places.If the order was right I would've rated 4 stars. Always support local business! I recommend giving Cass Alde a shot!
