We are locals and have wanted an *authentic* cajun place in this town for years - the owners were refugees from Katrina that stayed - and we are very happy they did. We have never eaten there and not had the owner come out of the kitchen to check on each table of guests personally. And the food is spectacular. The boudin balls are better than anywhere you'll find in LA. This place is out of the way and can a little tricky to find - but it is SO worth it.
This is such a hidden jewel, but if you know, you know!!! Had family from out of state join us and they loved it. It was a Friday night and First Friday at that so they were slammed. They had just a couple of waitresses busting their tails waiting tables, cleaning tables, taking orders, checking people out, answering the phone, helping throw down in the kitchen, the list goes on! And of course the owner is always there getting his hands dirty too! The wait may be long at times but everyone waiting knows it’s worth it!
Best fried catfish I’ve had in a long time! Kind, helpful staff accommodated our large (~15 person) group quite flexibly. Food took a reasonable amount of time to prepare, and came hot and fresh and almost perfectly all at once. Impressive timing and quality for such a small restaurant!
Because of road construction, it’s a little difficult to get to at the moment, but really worth the trip. I had a catfish plate that came with two generous strips of fried catfish and two sides (I had red beans and dirty rice). Catfish was lightly breaded and seasoned to perfection and the rice and beans were a compliment. The highlight though, were boudain balls… best I’ve ever had. Everything was delicious. Another example of a place off the beaten path with great food. My only complaint: it was a little pricey; $27 for the two fish plate+boudain balls and a water. Overall though, it’s a place with great Cajun food and friendly staff.
Wow! Very, very good. We got the fish and shrimp combo. Most flavorful and tender shrimp I have ever eaten. Boudin Balls were awesome. Great customer service too. Iris was especially helpful. Can't wait to go back.
Excellent is all I can say! Don't come here if you're in a rush because my experience is they cook everything fresh to order! Mac and Cheese and the meat pies are delicious!!! Excellent people here and make you feel right at home!! Very laid back eating experience!!!! Love it here

If you blink you might pass it up...it's kinda of hidden but the food WAS GREAT!THE Blackened catfish was the best I've ever ate ..The Etufe was GREAT..THE Red beans and RiceWAS GREAT...every bite of food from every side dish and main dish was flavorful to the end...Stop by and tell them Mr Norman sent you .
