These mutts were in the mood for chicken fried steak and catfish. Now it is a hit or miss on who is frying, and we happen to pick the best day! The chicken fried steak was NOT greasy and tender yet well cooked! The catfish was phenomenal and tender. No dripping oil nor greasy look or texture. Kudos to the individual(s) who fried foods on May 16! It gets crowded if you aren't there at opening hours otherwise wait till after 1pm to get in if you aren't in a hurry!
One of my fav restaurants in college station!! They are always many people, so I recommended at least one of your party should be in the waitlist if you are still waiting for the rest of your party to show up. Cuz they don’t do reservations! They have delicious rolls, there are 4 free ones, and later each roll charges! They have lunch specials ( 12.99 with sirloin and two sides). There’s no fixed ounce for the sirloin, so sometimes you probably think it’s small and sometimes you need a togo box. We have sirloin with corn and fries and the other one is catfish and grilled mushrooms. In the menu it was grilled onions and mushrooms, but it could customize, which was great! I would recommend people to at least come to this restaurant once if you visit college station!
It was okay. Nothing stood out as exceptional and nothing was bad. Local steak house with some good food. Images online are their 32 oz. Sirloin steak, which I did not get as a figured I'd not be able to eat in one sitting. I went with their Fireman steak which was cooked to my order but had too much grizzled fat to my liking. Sides are small portions, but appetizers were large and filling.
Steak was very tender and on point. I ordered a 16oz ribeye that was either select/choice and it tasted fantastic. The sides complemented the dish well and service was prompt. Only thing I would say is that the steak could use more of a even sear.
Great restaurant. I've tried virtually every entrée here and have never been disappointed. Very good Chicken Fried Steak, burgers and pork chops. You really can't beat the lunch specials here, you get a choice of several entrées, 2 sides and a drink for less than what you would pay at a fast food restaurant.
I though I was in trouble when I order the ribeye and the waitress asked if I wanted A1. When the steak came out I sent the A1 back with my complements to the chef. The steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. And the price was better than reasonable. But, the treat of the night was the “Chicken Fried Bacon” with a gravy dip.
Had to run to Bryan to register some cows and based on others recommendations we ate here! The food was excellent a d the staff delightful.
I'm in town visiting my son, daughter in love and grandson. We loved the scripture posted everywhere, even on the workers tshirts! The food was just like home cooked and the breading to meat ratio on the chicken and chicken fried steak was just right!
Best place to eat a meal tht reminds you of a real home cooked meal, from the perfectly cooked steak to grandma's meatloaf! Honestly its jst consistent every single time I'm here!!
Excellent steak and not to bad on price. That's a 14 Oz sirloin comes with 2 sides $14.99 . Very friendly and outgoing staff. Would be an excellent place to take the whole family. Sodolacks thank you for a great meal.
