This is a relaxing place with classical music and great food and service. I like the atmosphere and the food when I am not in a hurry.
Very bad service. Only got attended once while the waitress was flirting around with the help. Restaurant had more than enough waiters and waitresses and they were all only attending people that seemed like they had money.. people were leaving cause they weren't getting attended. The food was good but it was too little for the price. First time going there and never again will I go..

I am rarely disappointed by nice Italian spots and this gem in the RGV is no exception. Creative appetizers, perfect service, interesting take on classic cocktails (I got an orange peel strip in my Manhattan, a nice twist). Pasta dishes tended to the creamy side, I prefer brighter lighter sauces but no complaints as this was all excellent indeed.
One star for food. However, I was not satisfied with the fact that I was in a table of 6, myself included, and the waiter, without telling us, charger my friends gratuity without them knowing. The receipt said that gratuity included was for parties of 8. I was the only one who checked the bill. My friends ended up paying extra because they mistakenly tipped when the tip was already included. I understand that it is one’s responsibility to check their bill before they pat, but it was not right including gratuity without our knowledge for a party of 8 when we were 6. Plus, I paid in cash and the waiter brought me the wrong change and when he brought it back it was short 27cents. It’s not a lot, but it’s the principle. Food is already overpriced to begin with..Do better and don’t rip us off!

The food was not what I ordered but the manager made up for it, he was ver cordial and apologetic. Over all the staff was amazing and very attentive to what we needed.
Came to this restaurant for my birthday and was pleased. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was nice and quiet, granted this was a Tuesday at around 5 pm. The service was great but at one point I think our waitress forgot about us for a while, other than that she was a wonderful server. My only complaint is that I believe they forgot an ingredient in my beverage which was a cocktail. I definitely recommend for birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
A long time ago, this was the place to take someone and they would be impressed at the food and service. Now, wait staff move like turtles, the cappuccino machine is always broke, the meals are expensive and not that good. $16 for a salad? Maybe if food and service was excellent, but it no longer is at Toscafino!
