Recently dined at Taqueria Ultimo Taco. Hadn’t been in Brownsville since 2015 and this was always was my go-to taco joint. Great to know nothing has changed at TUT! Fantastic food, amazing service, very expensive… Tacos al Pastor are off the chain! Beans are BOMB. I introduced my girlfriend to “Ultimo” and she hasn’t stopped talking about it. Can’t go wrong here.
Excellent find on Trip Advisor! My wife was wanting authentic Mexican food and said this place rocks! While I stayed generic, it was really good and cheap!
The only reason we knew of this place was because of Tripadvisor. We went in and were surprised that the menus were only in Spanish, and our waiter could barely speak any English at all. However, being a great waiter he gave us the special frijoles plate, and we chickened out and got gringo tacos… The food was ridiculously good, preposterously inexpensive, and we were so happy we came!

Wonderful experience. My mom told me to pull up and they'd come out to take your order and man i thought she was lying but nope. They came out took our order and brought the food within 10 minutes. Highly recommend the quesatacos, that was a new one for me very delicious.
They don't have iced tea so FYI. The tacos al pastor were a little too salty for my taste. The beans were excellent as always.
What can I say. These are arguably the best tacos in town and number one in my book(barely tho). My order always seems to be cooked just right and tasty. I've never had a problem with the food just the other part of the dinning experience. It would be 5 stars but they are always so busy and its hard to maintain good service when you are that packed. Parking is also a nightmare and parking across the street is dangerous but these tacos are worth it!!
Right now they are short staffed, so anticipate roughly around a 30 min wait as there are many people always there even when it's slow. Still, tacos are superb and if you are from out of town, these are the best authentic tacos you can get while still in the United States. 10/10, will come again.
