It's a small and cute antique place and I had heard so much about it but they took a very long time! I waited about 20+ minutes but that's probably because the man in front of me seemed to have a large order. (More than 5 burgers I think) Also, it was my first time here and I did not see a cashier or server to take my order so I sat for a couple minutes. When later this second person arrives and they take his order before mine. Even when the server was told by another lady, whom she was actually chatting with, that I got there first!I probably would have gotten out of there quicker if I would have placed my order first. The other server was outside talking on the phone the whole time. ?Anyway, I got a double cheeseburger and a single. It was very inexpensive less than $5 for both. However, they were tiny! Meat was so thin and not enough flavor for me. My daughter was disappointed too. Also, they don't sell anything else except for chips and maybe drinks I think. Rating flavor only- It was good but I've had better honestly. Please don't hate me! ?But maybe I'll try it again soon and give them a second chance, since it's such a popular place.
Alright a very unique establishment ? years old, cool. Small hidden away business in Downtown. I can handle 3 burgers and we’re taking double meat double cheese. Yup made to order fresh , a jalapeño, bag of chips and a cold soda pop. Just the way I like it and have a seat in the back of my car parked in front of the burger joint. Small but great taste, fast and friendly service, fresh ingredients Great burgers ? ???all day long.
You've heard of a hole in the wall, but have you heard of a hole between the walls!? This historic burger joint was built in 1922 in a tiny alley! Don't eat here if you claustrophobic lol or maybe just get it to go, but the burgers are quaint. You can easily eat 2 or 3 of their double cheeseburgers. But the good part about it is it's very affordable! Man that bouble meat double cheese with ham burger was the most pricey and it wasn't even 4 bucks! Go here at least for the experience and for a good bite ?
Good customer service, but bad wait time. It’s best if you call and order. The real deal is them picking up the phone.
Excellent home-style burgers in town!! ?The best if ordered with ham.Order two for yourself, and don’t forget to bring cash and someone else to help you drive by. Otherwise, you might spend 20 to 30 mins finding a parking spot on a busy day.
Absolutely fantastic. Burgers were simple and DELICIOUS
Greasy & good. No inside dining at this time
Tiny tiny old historic place for a hamburger small they are small hamburgers even at a double so you might get two. Pretty cheap though. If I remember correctly about a buck 79 each. Good burger though.
We use to go to get burgers back when I was a little girl with my mom and siblings, many many moons ago. I remember the Rutledge's very clearly where the burgers were .25 cents along with a bag of potato chips. Those were the days. When I come visit Brownsville, I never fail coming for a Rutledge burger. This brings many childhood memories. It's not the same without the Rutledge's but I will drop by when I am in my hometown of "Browntown Brownsville".
Been wanting to try it out lady did not get my order correctly since she was taking it from the register while I can't even pass the door. Flavor was good for its simple menu but I got a double meat and yet it barely covered half the bun. Feel bad for the 2 stars but I was let down. I hope they can get back on track.
