We had excellent service. Our waiter was dressed sharply in formal black and white. We were served complimentary soup and chips while we ordered. The menu was completely in Spanish but there were pictures and I used a translator app. We ordered the Bistek Ranchero. It was spicy, tender and delicious. We were then served complimentary Tres Leche cake.
Googled best restaurants in Brownsville & this one had fairly high ratings. Gave it a shot & was mind blown how good food was! 10 out of 10!Thank you to all those who left good reviews before me and I hope keep the streak going, place is legit!

My second time here, was very impressed my 1st visit. There was an event today, which I assume was scheduled in advance. So management should have had more staff to accommodate the restaurant side and that event. My waitress was unavailable for most of the time, I could see she was very stressed out. I saw another couple looking for their waiter, he was unavailable. The man finally got up and came and got what he needed. Management should have been aware there would be over 20+ people in the side event room. So more staff should of been in the restaurant or a waitress/ waiter dedicated just to the event. They (event side)were even having to come over to the restaurant side to ask for food and whatnot.There was no chips, no fideo, no salsa and not much service today. I did get habanero salsa at the end, which was pretty good.Hope management realizes that you need more staff on board, especially when there are pre scheduled events going on.
Extremely shady staff and service. Placed a big order and they made a mistake which I understand happens. I had to drive all the way back to get an order of 2 tacos they forgot to give me. The lady wanted me to take them after the had been sitting there for 30 min or so. I told her I wanted fresh ones not cold ones which she agreed but then I noticed her take them to the back quickly and sneakily so they gave me the same ones. When I asked her about it she mentioned she had the old ones and could show me but came back empty handed. It's sad because I've been coming here for years. Sometimes things happen but this one crossed the line. This behavior is extremely unprofessional and they obviously don't value integrity and honesty.
A bit greasy but the food was good. The restaurant and restrooms were very clean. We arrived at dinner time 6pm on a Saturday, the back area was closed for a party, a few dinners in the front area. We had a pleasant dinner. Recommend...

Still a good place to eat. The plates have not lost the portion size but have lost some of the flavor. I remember it being tastier. But it's good quantity for the price. The staff is friendly and the place is nice and clean.
Tortilla was raw..the beans tasted like they were burned. Definitely not the same food and service.
Large group reservation was made ahead of time. Food was great. Service could've been better (someone had to remind waiter several times to bring beverage to a person at the table). Handicap access was a little like a maze to get to the back private room, and bathroom isn't handicapped compliance. Overall, good experience.
