No wonder this place is on lists for greatest BBQ in Texas!! I live in Richmond and it was definitely worth the short drive! We went on a Saturday and got there at about 10 and there was literally no line. The line never really got longer than maybe 20 people the entire time for the couple hours we were there. As many people have already mentioned, they have free Lone Star beer and bottled water for you while you wait. Tips greatly appreciated ??
Great pulled pork and brisket. Side dishes were also good. I was not a fan of the BBQ sauce as it was a bit too heavy on the vinegar for me.
Small, and in high demand, Truth is staffed by friendly folk (and free beer outside as you wait!). The brisket, a bit dry, but the house sausage—there are 2 other flavors—and ribs are scrumptious. Very good.
So this place was referred to me by a friend in North East Texas who owns Wright On BBQ in Harleton. We moved to Brenham in May and let me say I am now kicking my self I. The butt for not eating her sooner. My wife and I got the three meat plate and brisket boudin. Our sides were Mac and cheese and tatter-tot casserole. The brisket, pulled pork, and turkey was amazing. All super tender, moist, the smoke taste and smell was on point but not overwhelming. ( not that dry " Washington county BBQ " the locals rave over. ) The side where large and the portions of the meat was pretty healthy. Also, while waiting in line there is free beer, just throw in money to the tip jar.We will be backk!! Loved the outdoor environment!
Good God when did bbq get more expensive than a steak dinner! Look I am all about a good piece of brisket and Truth BBQ is no doubt that but it ain't no steak by far. Let me put it this way if I have the option of a steak or a brisket for the same price then that brisket better come with a sound stock tip or something because I'm choosing that steak all day long. Seriously when did a lesser cut of beef get so expensive, and I'm not just saying it about this place but almost all bbq spots now a days. Okay, okay I'm done ranting here, the bbq was great, the sides ridiculously good, and the desert was equally as good. They also have free beer available but at the prices can you really call it free? I couldn't drink enough beer before passing out to make up the price difference. Seriously I could have had two steak dinners for what I paid, goodness and that's why I can't give them 5 stars but I far as the food and atmosphere, 5 all day long; great food.
Ordered the "Trinity" deal which included three types of meat (one pound of each), two large sides of your choice, plus all the fixings.Best BBQ I've had in a very long time, hands down! Chose the brisket, ribs, and sausage with their homemade sauce (best sauce I've ever had). I would recommend Truth BBQ to anyone who loves BBQ!
We experienced no wait when we arrived. Had the brisket and pork ribs which were excellent. Sides were also exceptional. Staff and owner were very friendly and accommodating.
Everything was amazing, from the service to the food. It was a little pricier than most places, but absolutely worth it.I would recommend the pulled pork, brisket, pork ribs, potato salad, Tater tor casserole, and the corn pudding.
Late on writing this review. My wife and I were heading home and came by Truth BBQ, noticing not many folks there. So, we turned around and bought brisket and ribs to take home. The meat melts in your mouth it’s so tender. Both meats had a good flavor, but no noticeable smoke flavor or smoke ring in the brisket. For the price, I’ve had better. The price is because of the name and fame I’m sure. Not really into paying that much for just good bbq. At least we tried it and now we know.
Best barbecue ever, complimentary Lone Star beer and Stevie Ray Vaughn. What more could you want?
