Just moved to Brenham from Tennessee. Saw the billboard sign on Hwy 290 so found it based off the sign saying Seafood. Bought the grilled catfish dinners to go. I've eaten a lot of Catfish, they cooked it perfectly, it was so delicious. Then my mom and cousin drove down from Mississippi and Alabama so we decided to come for lunch. Discovered they had a daily special, came with a cup of soup, place lunch & dessert. Omgosh. It was very fresh fresh, homemade (not out of a can) and very tasty. Our server was the sweetest and very engaging! The cost was very reasonable too!!! We have already returned. This place will definitely be a regular place for us.
Would not recommend!! Catfish was still raw, frog legs smelled and tasted like they were rotten. Maybe the worst experience I've had in a restaurant in a very long time!!
I went with my wife to get crayfish and I'm pretty sure they didn't want our business. They may have had 8 tables total but we waited by the front door for 20 minutes without being greeted while multiple employees walked by all refusing to even look at us. We finally sat ourselves and another 10 minutes go by so we left. The thing is this was already a third try/chance after having bad food and service. The employees don't care and obviously don't want to be there
Worn down restaurant with slow service and found a hair in my food. Before discovering the hair, the food tasted okay. Was still charged for the salad and the appetizer that was brought out after we finished our meal.
Not Bad food but took forever to get it
Came here to eat when hungry and am glad my boyfriend and I did. The waiter brought us water after a couple of minutes. We ordered fried pickles (crispy, well seasoned batter), super tasty. He ordered the draft beer, Shiner Bock. Delicious. The side salad was small but crispy and tasty. The sauteed mushrooms were salty, the baked tater was baked, and the salmon was cooked almost all the way through. Good place to eat. Let with leftovers.
There were 20+ of us and one server, plus a server wha had just started that day and was in training. I think for a small family, this place would be great, but our server tried to get all of our food out at once, and some meals were cold. The grilled salmon was excellent but lukewarm. It was edible but cold beans and cold broccoli aren’t good cold. And the broccoli looked like it was leftover from yesterday. Under normal circumstances, I think it would be a great place to eat.
Went there for a takeout lunch and service is horrible wait staff saw me standing there and didn’t offer to help I had to ask were do I go for takeout and then was directed to bar area and it took 10mins to place an order and that alone should’ve been a clue not to order but I proceeded to order and it took 40 mins to get my takeout and catfish was not cooked all the way it was raw and fries were cold. I had to ask twice if my order was ready and girl proceeded to say she was not sure when it would be ready so asked another girl and she went to look. Will NOT GO BACK!
First time we came here walked in and sat down and waited 45 minutes and no waiter so we left. Figured we would try again almost a year later my family and I came in about a hour and 1- 1/2 before they close say down and the waiter said are you serious looking at us last time for us never again
Great food but be patient, like all small business these days they have a hard time finding quality help.
