We stopped at this small restaurant for lunch. Following the local patrons we ordered a of ribs with greens and beans. The ribs were deliciously smoked and the meat just fell off the bones. The greens as well as the beans were cooked tender. We had a good meal and would love to recommend this barbecue place to all meat lovers.
The best BBQ I’ve ever had! Some friends took us here and we were not disappointed! I The ribs and brisket we tried were outstanding. The sides were also delicious. I still think about the brisket!
What a great place not only was it great BBQ - the brisket and Mac n cheese was to die for, but the place exudes watch, family and a true love of serving others. Come early as the line never stops
LJ's is literally the best BBQ I have had around this area! They differently earned their top 50 spot in Texas Monthly by not only having some of the best fall off the bone ribs, perfectly ringed brisket, and a variety of sausage flavors, but also sides to support that meaty goodness! Their mac n cheese is drool worthy and those collard greens transport me right back to my childhood like I’m sitting in the kitchen making and tasting them with my Memo! Let's also not forget to praise the AWESOME customer service they ALWAYS have no matter how slammed they are!
One of the Best BBQ I have tried?
Nice little bbq place in Brenham. Delicious brisket and sausage plate. Mac and cheese taste like your mamas. Cole slaw was not bad either. Employees were cordial and helpful. Good stop to make if your going for ice cream at Blue Bell.
Excellent bbq. The brisket melts in your mouth. All kf the meats are delicious and what was very surprising was that all of their sides were very excellent as well.Definitely want to get there early and expect a long line to get food.
We enjoyed the outdoor dining on a blue bird sky day! I had the brisket sandwich, which was sooooo generous! Friday is one free beer day, btw! On the home front, we will devour the take out for dinner, ribs, sauce, pickled onions, pickles, and,potato salad. YOLO! Thank you good buddies! New buddies, too! Get there early.
Dec-2021 Update: Went back for our 2nd visit. Still fantastic! Love their jalapeño and cheese sausage, and great cole slaw. Best damn BBQ in Washington County. Easy stop from 290 on your way to/from Austin/Houston. Y’all get there early so they don’t run out of the best sides or ribs.1st Visit: Best smoked turkey in Texas! Solid collard greens, fantastic beans. Going back when we come through Brenham!
Great food!Brenham has always been the unspoken king of Texas Sausage IMO, and this place takes the crown.The brisket was great, and very juicy...not at all dry like many places.The special today was Pork belly burnt ends, which I'm glad to see has become more common in Texas BBQ.All in all, great food with a friendly staff. A place truly deserving of its place on the Texas Monthly BBQ rankings list.
