Great fried fish and fried chicken! They have fried livers, gizzards, baked chicken, vegetables, a small salad bar and more. The desserts, bread pudding and peach cobbler were not good at all. I wish they had Pico De Gallo on the buffet line. They have been good about keeping hot food on the buffet line and the service is good. They have soft ice cream but now you have to ask for it instead of self-serve. So all thing considered really good for an inexpensive buffet.
If you like okra and tomatoes this is the place to go. The greens were especially tasty too. Everything was good and hot.
Stopped in for dinner around 5:30. One other person ordering takeout. Another person like myself dining in. Buffet was fair. Fish rubbery; not sure how long had been sitting there.Regular fried chicken was okay but not seasoned and only barely warm.Three tiny wings were present; each about 2 inches in size. I couldn’t believe it.Potato salad was tasty but cold slaw was tired and rubbery also. I didn’t even try the veggies. Customer service was good and staff courteous. I left at 6:20 and not one customer was there. This business used to be booming. I won’t be back.
It was pretty good. Just wish they had spicy chicken on the buffet, and some cornbread. And more no crab veggies.
Chicken was great, very crowded but food was brought out quickly.
We stopped in for lunch. Dining room was close to full. We like the buffet dining because of the variety. They kept freshly fried chicken in the serving area. Who doesn't love fresh, hot fried chicken? Some of the side dishes looked tired, like they had been sitting there a good while. The mashed potatoes were looking dried out. But the rice and gravy were good. I don't see rice on buffets very often. So that was a welcomed change. I wish they would serve stemmed carrots. With the amount of people dining, the dining room was very clean. Trash was full, but guys were taking it out while we were there. This Hartz location is much better than the one in Columbus. The chicken didn't taste like it had been fried in scorched, old oil. I worked in a chicken place when I was in high school. So I know how often the frying oil should be cleaned or changed out entirely. Hopefully the Columbus Hartz will get their act together soon.
I liked the fact that Hartz has a variety amount of food. The service was super good. The food was nice and hot as it should be.All in all this is a great place to come and it.
This is a place I will not be returning to; it was my first visit and the man took my money and turned his back to me and walked away. When I finally got his attention again, he laughed at me because I didn't know to reach around the protective glass/plexiglass to get my own plate and cup (it wasn't obvious). I was expecting him to hand them to me because they were behind a protective glass (remember COVID)?When I returned later, he made fun of my new question. Doesn't he notice that Bush's Chicken is across the street (and the help is pleasant there)?
Pretty good service they are pretty quick and thier food pretty good
The Best one left keep it up Brenham.
