Met up with some friends here. Best Central TX BBQ and the best part is it's a small family owned business. Great food, wonderful ambiance and the sweetest family ever. Highly recommend it.

My family and I just ate at this restaurant for the first time yesterday and loved it. Every choice of meat was flavorful and moist. The sides were good, and they serve some of the best banana pudding I've had. Best of all, the customer service was outstanding. It's the kind of place you want to keep visiting.
The sliced bbq and ribs are the best I’ve ever had. The best thing about it is it is the first bbq I have ever eaten that didn’t give me indigestion! lol. But that is really a big deal to me. But the flavor and tenderness is perfection! Oh and you have to have the homemade peach cobbler yummmm. So dang good. Service is excellent and everything is extremely clean! Family owned and operated.
The ribs are so moist, brisket is flavorful. We are travel from austin to houston and stop by in the middle for late lunch. The owner and his staff are super nice and friendly. Highly recommend
Amazing bbq some of the best Turkey and brisket I’ve had. Hospitality is awesome. Treats outsiders great. This is a must stop by if ever going through Brenham.

Great friendly counter service bbq joint. Seems like we got there at the tail end of what was available so missed out on the sides other than slaw. Brisket, both moist and lean, was on the drier end of things but the flavor was excellent. Beans were great and the sauce, though not really needed was too. The sausage was definitely lacking in the seasoning department for my tastes, just a bit of a loose texture affair for me. What I assume to be the owner brought out some ribs on the house and they were the standout of the meal. Would definitely come back just for those. Overall, a great pit stop on our drive.
Can't wait to get back to Cody's. Brenham is halfway between Round Rock and Houston. Got friends in Houston that I'll definitely see more often now that I've had a taste of what Cody is serving up. Normally, I'm a pork ribs and sausage type of girl (absolutely delicious), but I had to go outside of my comfort zone once I was offered a sample of the succulent turkey. Wow!! And the brisket practically melted on my tongue. I came to meet up with a friend and stayed for the delicious BBQ! Can't beat the excellent attentive service with a down home smile. Already looking forward to next time.

If you walk into a BBQ joint and they say “here’s what we got left” - you sir/ma’am are in a good spot.Stopped in with a couple of buddies on the way back to Austin and this place did not disappoint. Excellent BBQ, sides and the kind of small town Texas hospitality that leaves you feeling like you had lunch with family.Brisket had a nice smoke ring and bark to it. Nicely seasoned. BBQ sauce had the perfect amount of bite and vinegar. Ribs were top notch, nice balance of sweet and savory and very tender.Seemed like a family run business, and that’s the kind of business I’m happy to support.
