This used to be our go to place for large gatherings with family because of the amazing food, but the quality of their food and service has sadly and drastically changed. We’ve ordered to go several times recently, hoping maybe we caught them on an off day, but each dinner has been a total waste of money. I’m not sure if they’re just slacking on to go orders because there seems to be a lot of great dine in reviews. My kids have always loved Longhorn and will eat almost anything, but even they have started complaining about a change in the taste and quality. We ordered frito pie and it was awful. The fritos were inedible due to being so stale and the little bit of chili we ate upset all of our stomachs. The meat in the burgers had a horrible taste so my kids didn’t eat those either. They gave us a huge salad that we didn’t purchase so I’m sure someone got home without a salad. They have left out entire meals on previous orders, so we have to either drive back and get them or take the loss. The cashier told my son we didn’t pay for the food so he had to come tell me and then go back in and show her the receipt. Luckily I was there with the receipt but some kids may not have that option and end up paying twice. I hate to leave such a bad review to a place we used to love. :( Maybe the dine in experience is still good but to go orders are trash.

Was touring around hill country and seeing local caves. Needed lunch before headed to Austin. Longhorn was sufficient. Neat little local joint with many favorites on tap to include beers. Must have had a new CSR, took down my order incorrectly, really wanted to have a double cheeseburger with bacon on sourdough. I got a single patty, no bacon and no sourdough. I’d say it was still pretty good though. Also shared a chicken fried chicken. Not sure what they marinate it with, but that was delicious. I may come back another time and try the bacon double. If you’re in the area, come out and support your local businesses and avoid chains.

Came to the Longhorn Cafe in Boerne. It doesn’t disappoint!I do miss the one that was closer to my house on the I-10 near Boerne Stage Rd.As far as the taste of the food goes, it still has amazing food just like all their locations. The atmosphere here is a fun and energetic feel.

My husband and I used to love coming here once in a while. Not anymore. The restaurant was dirty. The fried pickles tasted like paper. Sandwiches were small and thrown together carelessly. Saw a cook with gloved hands take off his hat and wipe his sweaty hair. It's just nasty gas station food now. Go elsewhere.

Very friendly staff , affordable prices & quick service. Just beware the food is good but very greasy & the restaurant itself could use a good scrubbing. Outdoor seating area is nice.

Quality of products and service: 11/10! Very laid back yet social atmosphere pairs well with their Texas-size portions and southern-style cooking.Food always comes out juicy & grilled to perfection!Sadly, it gets very busy around lunch & rush hour... have waited longer than expected (2-3x the normal timing) on multiple occasions.Come prepared and bring some entertainment... but no matter how long the wait, their food always leaves me full and satisfied.

Came in for lunch with my sister and mine came out right away. After waiting, my sister went to the counter and someone was eating her salad because they thought it was leftovers. She finally got her food after an hour — NOT OKAY! Not to mention, as we were eating and I glance to the kitchen since you can see it, I see an employee eating as they are prepping food. At least walk off and eat where customers can’t see you - this experience was appalling!

The food is usually good. However, if you are ordering anything with gravy for togo expect that you will NOT get it. We have ordered take out from them on more than one occasion, and there was no gravy with the order when there should have been. I usually don't complain, but it happened again today, and from the previous times I know it's not good without the gravy. It's really frustrating to have to make my own or actually get out of the house when it was delivered. I would ask staff to insure meals that come with gravy should have the side of gravy before bagging the meal.

Burgers are delicious! Onion rings and tater tots were our favorites. Sweet potato fries were not good- bland and soggy (not fresh at all). Aside from those sweet potato fries, we enjoyed all of our food and plan to return!by the way, this was takeout and the only thing missing was… napkins. So, good job team!Main reason for the one star deduction:Why is the drive through closed? Jan 2022 and many other places have figured out how to create drive through/curbside… but those options do not exist here even though this building is clearly designed for a drive though. Why is this not being used!?!?

Been here several times when in the area for work. Food is good people are nice . The only reason i didn't give them 5 stars was because the ice machine runs out and they run need to check and change the sodas during busy times. It is great that they are buay and having these small issues. But this was my only complaint.
