This was my first time here and I ordered the liver and onions...OH-EM-GEEE! I hadn't had this dish in years. Did not disappoint. Thank you!
This place has really good food, but I do have to take one star away for value. This place was pricey, I had to wait a really long time for my food, and there is limited seating. It was a Friday around 7pm.
I was genuinely surprised - what a great find this little restaurant was! Everyone was extremely friendly, the food was amazing, the menu was varied enough that there was something for everyone to leave feeling full, and the pricing was very reasonable. Comfortable, down-home food in a friendly, bright, very casual setting. I live in San Antonio, but will definitely be making a trip back here again!
They have a large variety of food. Including some great looking desserts. I would have loved to had coleslaw but it is not on their menu. I have a lot of diet restrictions so this place is ok for me but it is not a place I would frequent. The staff is super friendly and it was not very crowded. It was one of the few places that was still open later in town so that is why I went there. It is very popular with the locals and is well established. If you want a traditional American meal then you will like this place.
I have been eating here for close to 20 years. My food has always been consistent, always been delicious, and I have never had a complaint or bad experience!
This place is all about that comfort food feeling you get when you find the right place. The environment is relaxed, inviting, and friendly. Had three of my grandbabies with us, and we never felt uncomfortable at all. All of them are two and under, so for those with young ones in a restaurant, you know what I mean. The kid's meals were great! Large portions of kid-friendly food. They all ate and were happy the entire time with their meals. We had, my wife, youngest daughter, and I, the large chicken fried steaks and grilled chicken sandwich meals. All were cooked great. The side dishes are large. You need a place like this in every town where you can go and just enjoy a meal with no pretense. We're moving to Boerne this year, and am looking forward to making this a regular stop! Lastly, they have amazing desserts. The pies are great. I had the bread pudding, which is worth the stop alone! Thank you Hungry Horse for another great Boerne experience!
This is just a standard Texas eatery. Same old stuff. Broccoli just isn't supposed to get that big!! Sysco quality at best.
Always a go to when we are in Boerne. Great food and great service. Home style cooking and lots of options. Make this a stop you don’t miss.
Some of the best comfort food in the greater San Antonio area. The meatloaf is excellent. I only take off a star because I've been treated less-than-ideally by the staff on a couple of occasions.
Best country fried steak ever.
